I've listen to their other songs......and I've become more and more impressed by just how much range they have. I recommend any of the Leatherface Songs (gotta make fun of Country), K.W.A Killers With Attitude (gives us Pennywise!), and more Ghostface songs. Love your breakdowns as always.

Thanks! Yeah, they definitely run the whole gamut of musical genres. That's the thing about comedy music: it's a genre of it's own, but also can be performed in any other genre. One of the things I love about it. I've done comedy songs in country, rock, pop, ska, hiphop...comedy music is the most versatile genre because it can be ALL genres, while still being it's own.

Well, both aren't enough syllables to match "other side" but I can see either working.

@@Insaneian fair nough, I just find words with a la segment are pretty easy to stretch or squeeze to fill pentameter( pretty sure I use that word wrong but not sure if there's a word for the vocal annunciation flow of a line) used to translate foreign songs for fun, and fitting a literal translation does not go well so you gotta play with words a bit to still fit the musical tempo.

@@kizukun001 yeah, stretching on the vowel sound of la- vs pho- is easier to be sure (and the term I think you mean is scansion not pentameter, pentameter is a specific number of syllables within a phrase or verse, see also "Flow Like Poe" by MC Lars where he raps about tetrameter). Usually in parody you want the number of syllables to match the original song so that nothing sounds too awkward or out of place sonically, especially to those who are very familiar with the original, but in cases like this, it's normal to hear artists fudge it a bit to fit the meter and tempo and disregard complete scansion of the line.

@@Insaneian will check that out. And it's good to know the right word for it. Scansion, never heard that word before, new vocab addition. Honestly it's bothered me for a long time using pentameter as a placeholder knowing it's not quite what I meant, thank you.

@@Insaneian I'm not sure about The Sunless Sea, it's kinda in the middle. While _in my opinion_ (gonna stress that there), The Sea Of Thives leans in to the comedy side more.

I mean, I saw that it existed, but it came out around the same time as Scary Movie and was direct to video, so I never got the chance to see it.

@@Insaneian it has pretty bad reviews but I personally always enjoyed it more than scary movie series. Granted scary movie 2 (or was that 3, the one that referenced the signs movie) was pretty close, that cocking the shovel still gets a chuckle outta me.
