One agitator than most people and doctors overlook is the evidence that having any sort of digestive issue can also bring on PVCs/PACs. I was diagnosed with GERD at a young age and after a few years I noticed that my ectopic beats only and I mean ONLY happen when I'm having reflux. There is a gut-heart connection and these ectopics are also very strongly connected to our vagus nerve. I wish this was talked about a bit more as the connection is very real and may also be a reason why so many others suffer from ectopics.

@jasonGlausWx I am experiencing PVCs when I eat and I have bouts of GERD!! Have you found any solutions that help with this phenomenon? I have researched the vagus nerve and found a couple of things to try and stimulate it. I also have cervical spine issues which can affect the vagus nerve. Thanks! (I release you from any sort of liability if you decide to answer)

I have adrenal fatigue (BAD) and low cortisol, low blood pressure, low heart rate and reactive hypoglycemia all bc of my adrenals. I am so thrilled to see that this could be a cause because I'm working diligently to get to the root cause.

for 6 years no doctor could figure out what was wrong with me. now my new doctor in one appointment worked it out :) for 6 years i've head the typical medical gaslighting of "oh it's just anxiety" and "you need to exercise" and "cut out caffeine" -- when i lead an extremely healthy lifestyle. i go to the gym and HAVENT HAD COFFEE/SODA IN 2 Y EA RS!! i've had this since i was 12, and it's only gradually gotten worse. i'm 18 now and they're ruining my life. my (faulty) heart goes out to everyone with this. this really sucks.

I recently started having this but all test results are normal. Had to do ECG twice, then suddenly it stopped after being constant for 2 weeks. After watching this video I laughed so hard because I now see a direct link. I was diagnosed of low T Aka hypogonadism some years back, I guess the level is just too low at this point so I'll work on getting it up again. Thank you!

I'm so silly, 4 years ago I used to have heart issues from drinking too much (withdrawal), vitamin deficiency, and anxiety on top of that made them worse. Didn't realize the connection, but I would legitimately thought I was dying. I went to the ER and they told me I had PVCs, did a blood test and told me to slow down on drinking. My doctor prescribed me a very low dose of Propranolol (blood pressure medication), magnesium, and potassium to help with withdrawals and the vitamin deficiency. I did absolutely that, stopped drinking and now my heart is great! Lesson of the day, if you're anything like me in the past... don't drink so much wine that when you're sober your heart starts freaking out 🥲

What are your thoughts on frequent PVC’s on someone who has cut out all triggers(for an extended period) and also has a clear echo? Would you still give beta blockers for the symptoms? Do further testing?
@gwheel3502
@gwheel3502 2 жыл бұрын
Wonder this as well, in essentially this exact scenario.
@eviedp1
@eviedp1 8 ай бұрын
If by frequent you mean above about 15% of total beats as recorded on a long-term monitor, then they can sometimes do an EP study to find the source and do an ablation. But there are risks to ablation so it's not typically done for a benign condition. Otherwise they likely can't do anything except prescribe a beta blocker. A beta blocker doesn't actually stop them it just lowers your perception of them (the heart doesn't beat as hard so you don't FEEL that thump when it happens). And of course you have to sometimes deal with side effects from the beta blocker! Often all they can do is reassure you that they are typically benign, and you just have to try to ignore them. Easier said that done in my experience, when I feel each one of them! Make sure you visit with an electrophysiologist (rhythm doctor) since they are the specialists about electrical heart issues.

I ONLY figured this out MYSELF by joining a Facebook group for women in perimenopause. Please get some research on this !! Also GUT HEALH , why else would I have PVCs right after eating high sugar foods or high carbs , again so many ppl with PVCs had their PVCs stop after going Keto . Why don’t we hear more about this??? Mine fires up during exercise. Does go away if my heart rate is over 120bpm. It only got worse as I got older. Diet change and cardiologist test all proved no help. Benign is that they say and I have an otherwise, healthy heart. Which constitutes to not worry. But mine is very symptomatic . Fish flop and causes a feeling in center of my chests feeling like there's something that just stopped. I know the pvc and it's actions but not sure what's what's causing them. I've been prescribed metroprolol but it only Lowers BP and decreases the feeling of that "thump" that you feel when it pauses, then your heart fills up with blood to make up the missed timing and it just feels like I get startled and it's really worrisome.

How many PVCs do you get without the exercise and how many do you get with exercise? Is it possible that you aren't feeling them when you are at rest? You exercise and since the beats are strong, you feel them more?
@louistournas120
@louistournas120 2 жыл бұрын
@@ih5927 Most likely you simply don't feel them when you are moving around. Also, usually the number of PVCs reduce when your heart beat is faster. This is because the Sinus node depolarizes the tissue and it does not give a chance for the ventricular cells to cause a PVC. If the number of PVCs goes up during exercise, I have read that it bad. It isn't the PVCs that are bad but it could mean that there is something else wrong with the heart. They need to measure with an ECG to see if the number of PVCs goes up with exercise. It is the only way to be sure.

I'm in the same boat, just got out of the ER and had second set of blood test from OB. Referred to cardiologist but OB says they can be normal in pregnancy and should go away after. Mine haven't stopped in 3 days. Got a fit it with ecg to track it.

I started having heart problems and pvc in my left ventricle after I got my rogram shot when I was pregnant the doctors did not explain what was in the shot just scared me into thinking my blood type would kill my unborn child if I didn’t get it wellll I wish I knew then what I know now 💔

rhogam does not cause pvcs, it was likely a coincidence. I've had rhogam many times yet did not develop the constant pvcs until nearly 10 years later.

So, if you're saying beta blockers can be a possible trigger AND be a treatment, then how do you differentiate? Dosage? Type of beta blocker?

I was taking Metroprolol 25 mg 3xs a day. I've been having these damn things for 40 years. They've gotten worse over the past 5 years. Anyways, I wore a monitor for 3 days and she just upped my Metroprolol 50 mg in am, 25 during the day and 50 mg at night. Go figure.. I have them 24/7. I have CAD, CHF, CABG×4 & a MI. Go figure. I follow up with her in 2 months but this new med dosage isnt working.

Sure is funny you have all these things that causes PVCs every time I ask my cardiologist they tell me they’re not sure why I’m having them blame it on electrical issues had to cardiac ablation .. now here’s all this other stuff that causes PVCs what the heck ? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Can long term type 1 diabetes be a trigger.? Diabetes seems to mess with just about everything in your body. Heart disease is another gift.
