Actually it was famous in the middle east back then, I mean like all people i know had one. But what we used to do was getting all the games in one memory card so we don't have to change the memory every time we need to play something. What I loved about it, The mp3 player, the video player, the first device i know that has usb port to transfer files, games, emulation, multiplayer, the long battery life. The worst was the stupid phone speaker location, get bricked easily for some reason.
@jier99047 жыл бұрын
eeey, it was famous in my place as well (SE Asia), but only a few kids have it so we often borrow his phone and pass it around. We also never use per-game memory, all games are in 1 memory card.
@Yaenu10937 жыл бұрын
Pretty interesting that it was popular in the middle east. Any insight on why it got popular in that specific region? And around what time was it? Right around the release of the device or later?

I just recently got into researching the N-Gage and thought it was pretty neat and not a lot of people (at least that I know) have really heard about it. Since there is only 55 games, I thought I would try to collect all the games for it. Although I may have to do all of it on eBay, I hope it's worth it. I won an auction for Red Faction, Tomb Raider, and MotoGP for less than $5 total, including shipping. 3 games down, 52 to go!

Pandemonium is one of my favorite games ever. I used to play it on n-gage when I was 5-7 years old. That game brought me so much joy back in the day. One of my biggest wishes is that could play that game again and experience it again.
@gustavoeidon2 жыл бұрын
I had an original N-Gage, in 2005 you could play a game like these while listening to mp3 or radio and being on-line in MSN messenger at same time. The message would pop in the down right side of the screen and the game performance was the same. It played movies, emulators - some emulators had bluetooth multiplayer.

Really surprising that there weren't a bunch of vertical shooters. You would think that the genre that actually used vertically oriented screens in the arcade would be an obvious choice for the N Gage.
@shenmeowzo11 жыл бұрын
woah! i never knew that's how you had to change the game cards! you're right, that will have killed it for me. and the vert screen.. very strange choice. well, with 55 games it got 5 times as many released as the virtual boy, which i love.. man i wish there were 5 games for the VB lol
@marcomartins10749 жыл бұрын
If you count the 3 packed-in games that came with phone itself as retails you are still missing 3 games that came in a MMC card. In my country we had: - The classic N-Gage model came with a Snow Board game. - The N-Gage QD came either with Snakes or a Robot game (can't remember this game name now) and in some Value Packs of the Phone with both in the same MMC card.
@finngamer9 жыл бұрын
+Marco Duarte Yeah, I know, I just showed the retail games here.
@marcomartins10749 жыл бұрын
Sure, but since they had their own MMC card I count as retail thou. Plus I know Snakes was a FREE Nokia game that we could download at the N-Gage webpage back in the day. But the other 2 can only be found in the MMC card format. Plus Sega Rally isn't the super rare N-Gage game.
@finngamer9 жыл бұрын
Marco Duarte Yes, Sega Rally is the rarest retail game. You seem to have a different definition of "retail" than most people.

N gage had the potential to make a succesful console if they would have made the screen wide . And most importantly, make a version that wasn't a cellphone. Just the game part with mp3 and video playing capabilities. It would have sold really well but Nokia didn't have an idea of what they were doing so instead we got this.

you have the most random games "still sealed"....i understand a classic game but "fifa soccer 2004"?

What? I'd say it should be the other way around, with crap like an old FIFA sealed (because it doesn't need to be played) and a classic game opened (because it should be played). That being said, all these N-Gage games are copies I have found for the cheapest price. Sometimes it was sealed, sometimes opened.

@finngamer- I noticed that you haven't really stuck to buying either European or American releases, and your N-Gage collection seems to be a mixture of both regions, as well as some Gold Review Kit releases thrown in for some of the harder-to-find titles. Do you have any plans to complete the European and American sets, and also substitute the Press Kit placeholders with actual retail releases? I am an avid N-Gage collector myself, and am only missing the last few games which were released in Europe - However, I am attempting to complete a full set of sealed releases for that extra challenge! I understand that NCAA Football was only released in the US, and I believe Warhammer 40K never actually got a proper retail release (just a Press Kit release). I already own a sealed copy of SEGA rally. :) PS. I would also include the Flo Boarding pack-in game, even though this doesn't come with a proper game case
