When you said flanker, annoying forcing cooldowns, I thought the "guide" would be about that. How to PLAY her. But it's just a description of abilities and the interaction with other heroes. That is not "how to play sombra", nor a guide, and certainly not complete. That's the user manual. "Thank you for purchasing our Sombra 3000(TM). Here are the different buttons you can press. It is not recommended to use Sombra 3000(TM) with Dva bomb(TM). If hacks last longer than a day, please consult a doctor."

I actually canceled a soldier's ult before. It's kind of like canceling hanzos but an even tighter window. If I had the replay I'd prove it.

Learning Sombra reminds me of when I was learning Dva with how much utility she gets with her abilities and how fun they are. having to use ur noodle to out play people feel so rewarding. Sombra has more utility with her abilitie in some matchups, wheres most of dvas utility is what she can eat with her DMs (and has some less forgiving matchups). i think a good Dva and Sombra duo that works together can pretty much shut down most ults in the game. plus EMP DVA bomb is an underrated combo. I find that the harder ults to eat with DVA is hanzos Dragon (cuz your never close enough to a good Hanzo unless u eat it through a wall) mei"s snow ball (cuz she can just toss it on the floor under her, thus removing the travel time and time to eat. You would have to stand over her wit DM while she ulting) and grav (cuz its more of a "if I was zar when would I use my ult" kind of read the voice line sound Q is so tight. unless shes yeeting it from 10-20 meters away and most good zar just wait for DM to go on cool down then gravs. you have to play all sorts of mind games with zar to consistently eat grav. like one example ,looking at the floor when DMing then flicking up last sec to eat the grav). which leads me to say that smobra kinda makes up for a lot of DVAs weak spots with DM minus Grav. so much utility those 2 have

Rilo, it was a great overall, but you missed the hacked virus damage vs healing outputs like bap's regen, mercy's valk, lucio's amp and solider 76's bio field. Remember it will do faster damage and combined with your primary damage and hacked targets you can do surprising damage to self healing heroes. It just made it feel like putting the virus on a character that can self heal is pointless. I know you didn't say that precisely, but it did feel discouraging. As a Sombra main myself, I just thought your audience needed a little clarification about going against characters that can self heal.

I lurk in the shadows and flank the supports but it's quite hard when the whole team groups up or is like 2 healers and a dps team stacking so I can't flank. I try to play her but my other dps aren't good to hold their own or stay with the tank. I'm a full dive flanker with Sombra so having 30 deaths in 1 game doesn't bother me

I think the only thing you missed was if you do hack plus virus. The virus duration goes faster. Amazing Guide. This for sure will help me improve my sombra more. I do have a quick question for EMP should I use it more Offensively or defensively. For instance maybe I wanna use emp defensively to just cancel out ults or Should I use it Offensively where I just use it combo with someone ult on my team for instance maybe a Zarya ult plus hanzo ult.

i talked about the virus + hack kinda brief, but not for hero’s…i forgot 🫠. So last patch you would really only use it defensive because the lock out was still too short. Now, it’s kinda back in both ways. Emp cancelling ults is always great, but people forgot about her offensive. now with the 3 second lock out you can actually plan a nice engage and stop them from doing combos or valuable abilities. Such as the Grav Drag, as soon as you hear the grav, if you hit hanzo with emp he won’t have enough time. Same with other enemy combo’s. or of course…suzu…You can flip the fight really fast. SOO…😅 If you have some good communication, the offensive can be great to plan ahead. The defense is also good because cancelling a ult and locking out the team…,plus the 25% damage i guess, is always good. Hope this helps!

I have a question and it might be idiotic but, is there any way to trigger stealth on purpose? It seems like 3 secs is alot of time (I play another fps where cooldowns n time are of the essance) but people seem to trigger it much quicker than the 3 seconds

So yes there is. The only way to get into stealth quicker is using your TP. Using tp cuts the cooldown by about 2 seconds. It almost immediately puts you in stealth. I normally just throw my tp into the ground or at a wall to go invis.

rilo: you can cancel X ability with hack demo: shows sombra starting to hack before other hero presses ability in question because hack has a 10x longer cast time me: oh cool gotcha, so what you actually meant to say is that you _can't_ cancel that ability with hack

Yep, anytime they are hacked the ult icon can appear if they have ult. This makes it sooo much easier to plan a fight before hand.

using any active ability button (besides Hack in some occasions…and TP) it will take you out of Stealth. So Melee, Ult, shooting, and Virus will uncloak you. An exception to Hack is if you use hack on an enemy it will also take you out.
