After having recently started an island in Animal Crossing New Horizons, that is entirely without any cliffs, I'd like to chat about the pros and cons. Is it something for you? Would I recommend trying it? I hope you enjoy the video!

you could go to nmt islands though, it's kind of a pain but you could do that

@@elenaruh2144 i think youre fine if you atleast have a river running through the second layer :o but if not theres mystery islands that would probably be more helpful even if you did have the third layer

You actually need all layers, there are at least one or two fish that only aopear on the top layer, and the water from there needs to connect all the way to the ocean if I'm not mistaken.

For anyone worried about missing out on the cliff specific fishies- you can have a flat island and still catch them on a mystery island!!

HI! I hate terraforming hahaha every time I tried to build some cliffs they were horrible, and I find that a flat island for me is so much easier and not so boring as someone can think. If I knew how to build better cliffs I would totally incorporate them on my island

I flattened my island before we got news of the separate AC direct so my only regret is the no vines thing lol. I was just so sick of needing 1 square clearance around every single cliff level and felt like it wasting so much space. All these months later I still have so much open, flat land that I’m taking my time with and I LOVE it. I think it might be a long time before I consider cliffs again.

I’m about 350 hours into my no terraforming island and it’s the best decision ever, I was so burnt out keeping all of my structures on the beach to come up with the perfect canvas and rush to unlock terraforming, and I would get so tired before I even was finished. It’s so much easier to make it as you go and not stress!

Good to know we can still reach 5 stars. I was already working on a swampcore island then saw your no cliffs challenge and it sounded like fun. It has certainly been a challenge and I don't have a lot of tall items so it feels very flat right now lol

I like the flat idea, but just realize for some of the fish if you do not have them and if you will want to finish you critterpedia, you will have to get those that require a top falls before flattening. You could always visit a friend or mystery island also.

Another Island without Cliffs is tatooine (one o Cozy Chey's island) It's a springcore island and it's absolutely stunning!

Ive tried to make a flat island before and for me the no cliffs thing completely burnt me out to the point i had to restart. I love using cliffs for decorating so i think its definitely a personal thing regarding having them being stressful and stuff and isnt easier for everyone. However i love seeing others islands when theyre flat i think theyre always really cool. I just love cliffs too much lol (Sorry if this is worded bad i just woke up)

I almost did a no cliffs island when I last flattened my island, but it was kind of a scary thought, so I didn't. I might give it a try next time I redo my island. Terraforming can be stressful, and decision fatigue is real! Great video. TFS!

I love the back Of the island and how it’s just open to the beach, if you laid down sand pathing you could make a beach there that blends to the rocks… the ultimate forbidden beach. N if you put clifs near the actual beach you could create a British isle kinda vibe

That’s what I have currently and man it’s hard to find ways to fill everything in hahaa The issue I’m having is the lagging because of how much you’re adding. I really don’t like the lag but I like the idea of adding waterscaping. That’s pretty cool!

I redid my island with almost no water! and minimal cliffs! I hate water-scaping and feel like I'm not good at it. Having the option for cliffs like on the back of the island is nice

If you have no cliffs I don't think whether you have a five star rating or not would matter bc the only real reward for maintaining 5 stars are lilies of the valley which only spawn on cliffs

I’d love to restart, but I’ve poured so much into my island- caught all the sea creatures, fish, bugs, etc. I might just need to refresh the terraforming because I’ve worked so hard 😪

Down side is no spawning of lilly of the valleys.. you need a cliff somewhere for that then you can move the flower to another place.

??? Naporia - the island I was building, that this video is about - has zero cliffs, just waterscaping. I can't take responsibility for DAs of other people though. all of the lily of the valley's on my island (that was shown at that timestamp) were picked up from treasure islands :D you won't be able to get them naturally, since they only spawn on cliffs. However, 5 stars are possible either way
