I got chosen to go in front of the crowd to get a wand selected for me and I kept making the audience laugh with my responses. After I killed his plant I turned the wand around and handed it back to him saying “yeah I’ll just...” as I handed it back to him and everyone laughed. When the wand finally got selected for me there was a huge spotlight and wind and the Harry Potter theme started blasting it was so awesome!!!

They have different ones in Japan's Universal in Hogsmeade. A couple include dancing luggage by the train, making a flame shoot out of a chimney, bubbles come out of the air, water leaking from cauldrons, and at Christmas dancing ornaments. They use the same interactive wands, so you can bring ones bought from other parks.

They should do a dueling section, with special wands that light up, and it can be like laser tag tech. You have to wave your wand certain ways and there are different points for different spells.

I could try to, but there are some pretty incredible low-light versions of the experience already on a few channels. My camera in low-light isn't the best and the frame rate flickers a bit, and there are better cameras out there to do it justice, haha.

You might already know this, but when you're shooting the alien targets in MIB, you'll get more points if you shoot at the ones farther away from you. The infrared is like a cone, so its more accurate from a distance. I would assume it's the same thing with the interactive wands? (Maybe that's why the ones that are up higher on the buildings in Diagon Alley are easier to try?) Idk just spit-balling here 🤣

If you look on the information sheets about the interactive wands, the tips just reflect IR and the cameras are meant to pick up the reflected IR. If the reflected light moves in the general desired fashion, then something happens. In MiB it's more like you're shooting a laser that the targets have to identify rather than reflecting. I think standing further away would make it more difficult for the cameras to pick up the IR, but at the same time it doesn't work if you're too close, kind of like a PlayStation camera.

I wish I could go but sadly I live in Scotland. Atleast we have film locations here though 😂 If anyone was curious the bridge where Harry nearly fell out the flying car is an actual bridge here in scotland and you can take a train over it. It’s a great experience for anyone in the UK. There’s also loads more Harry Potter inspired areas, such as the place that inspired Diagon Alley!

You can buy them pretty much anywhere actually. Most of the big stores at Islands and Universal have wand selections as well as some of the resort stores, but both Ollivanders in both parks sell them and Gregorovitch in Diagon also sells them. Ollivanders has the biggest selection though, and the show too.

Nah, these are plastic. But you can make your own wand so it can also interact just like the official ones. All you need is a relector at the tip to reflect the IR beam. That's all there is to it.

Disney would have hidden those cameras better, some of them are clearly seen - Disney would have camouflaged them better. Do the interactive features work anywhere outside of the potter area?
