I remember going there as a kid for a field trip. I got freaked out by the mines. Refused to go down.

I love your videos. Have you ever seen the movie Dolores Claiborne? She has an old abandoned well in her backyard that her evil husband falls down into. That's what the opening to this mine shaft reminded me of!! 😳

It certainly has a bit of Stephen King vibe going. Thanks for watching!

That was immensely interesting. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard or read about this prison though it’s name was so familiar. And a search revealed - ah ha the Old Bailey. What dreadful conditions the prisoners endured. Thanks for taking me along on your adventures.

This is a popular place for Connecticut school field trips. I visited here with my middle school class, decades ago.

Now that's what you call a MANUAL HARD LABOR prison! ⚒️ 🔨 👍 😥 🤠
@ChalkandIron2 жыл бұрын
This place sounds like torture and hell on earth for inmates. Imagine living underground in filth and shit, brought only to light to do labor then back into darkness.

If any businesses in USA today are forced to ship stuff to another country for processing (like this copper was), then the USA is not longer free.

And the prisoners have the nerve to complain today! Show them this and they'll know how lucky they are. They would have to kill me because I'm not going down there. NO WAY! You sure can find some rare bits of history, Mason. Loved it, as always. Hope you had a very relaxing Labor day because now it's time to,............get busy.😉👍

They have the right to still complain today. You realize how many suffer sexual abuse or are straight up murdered in prison, aswell as abused by guards? There are multiple cases of literal KIDS being out into solitary confinement- one was put for 6 months- and now suffer from mental illnesses like delusions and hallucinations to this day because of it. Prison systems are still beyond fucked in america.
@luckytahlula65152 жыл бұрын
@@CatPawLover don't get me wrong, I don't believe there should be cruelty or abuse in prisons, I'll make that clear off the bat. But if prisons are that bad you'd think that would be the last place anyone would want to go.
