Discussions and deliberations don't create a change at the mainstream basic level. You need to activate the DNA replication for cell division to occur and the same goes for every change in the world. You need the middle class to participate in the activist works. They are the people who would work better than the people who; after completing a long day's speech stay in a 7 star hotel enjoying Air Conditioners (CO émission), Stored food(refrigeration of course), etc. At a large scale.....🤷‍♂️

The way Emma get excited with criticism which she interprets as that she has to keep doing what she does, why doesn't she have that attitude with the Ukraine-crisis by showing her love to Ukraine? Do women only dare to take fights for racism and climate but nothing else?

This conversation was very insightful but seemed awfully scattered. There weren't any concrete plans for developing or establishing the movement, which made the panel still look naively driven by ideals that will probably never come to fruition if there is not a schematic approach that can actually solidify the solutions to the climate crisis. Unfortunately, putting massive pressure on world leaders is not enough. Daphne, the disability advocate is the only one person in this panel with her feet on the ground because she knows that the system has to be changed from within not from the outside.

As this video comes to an end and you scroll down to read the the comment section, I implore you not only to indulge in the feeling of being inspired, but also in the words they actually speak. As mentioned by some of the activists, these conferences can be seen and heard but often forgotten soon after. If you felt inspired by this, if you felt defended and your beliefs advocated by this, that is because they are speaking so that those of us with far less influence can also be heard and that is a truly honorable thing. If you didn't feel inspired that's ok, they are standing up for your human right to a comfortable and manageable climate as well. One thing we can all be sure of is that taking ACTION on these words together gives us all more hope and that hope will dismiss our fear of uncertainty as we make progress as a diverse and unified whole.

we all can take small steps to protect our climate and environment 1. plant trees more 2. don't waste papers 3. reuse and recycle things as much as possible 4. carry jute or cotton bags in place of plastics.. refill pens in place of use & throw plastic pens 5. Report to local authority if you find people are not following env rules 6. engage more people in this awareness and make rally sometimes to make others aware, we can change. only we can

Tori Tsui's point on coalition building seemed really important to me. There's a lot of inertia to overcome to crack problems of political will, apathy, vested interests, etc., and it's good to see people banding together across a large range of issue areas and carrying each other's causes forward, instead of staying in separate little silos. Lots of overlap and agreement in the answers here, even with speakers from such different backgrounds and specialities, so coalitions seem pretty natural. On the other hand, I imagine it's hard to balance the need for a heavyweight political presence with the need for a tightly focused agenda for change. Much respect for these activists, they've a tough job ahead. Well done & thank you to all who put together the event!

This is like asking what can be done to undo bullet wounds after someone has alreasy been shot. They can't be un-shot. We can slow the bleeding... And try to cap it, but it is impossible with the way the current economy is run. With central bank economics. With farmers harvesting our food that we need to live with gas powered tractors. , and truckers transporting the food to grocery stores or produce markets, food that we need to eat. Or families who don't live in bicycle friendly climates year round, who don't want to bike two hours to work every day and two hours back because that eats away at their time with their families, time which that traveling by car gives back to many people. Working remotely can help a lot. Recycled battery companies and technologies can help a lot. But alternative fuel methods to petrol have gross environmental externalities. Does anyone know what materials are requires to be mined and processed to have a completely solar powered and electric world? Even the coal and hydrogen that is burned for trains and subways to run... Which many activists use still, or the amount of pollution that goes into making bicycle tires... New electric cars, etc. It will never be "perfect" even if everyone goes back to traveling only by horse and by sail or row boat. Could it help out slow? Maybe.... But so, so much has to be done in literally every economic, food, travel, and energy facet. The infrastructure for all of this needed to be complete 20 years ago. The fuel off of which that infrastructure is run needed to be a "clean" source... Decades ago. The metals mined for this to be possible, needed to happen years ago. Oh... Let's not forget... People don't want capitalism to exist. Capitalism is the reason a demand for cleaner output vehicles exists in the first place. Capitalism and democracy... Is the reason greta's voice was ever heard. Before... She would just sit with a sign every day. It wasn't until capitalism - born technology started broadcasting her efforts that her voice was heard. Television? Invented in a capitalist society. Computer? Internet? Instagram? Facebook? Came from within the trenches of the very society that gives her a voice and somewhere to broadcast. The same system that also produces a lot of waste. The same system that is trying to insentivise and make cool and sexy cleaner fuel methods for labor and for energy.

Rather than mentioning just the person who hosted the Conference, I'd rather say Greta's point of view is more reasonable which is why it must not remain underrated as it is. Just because you conduct conversations which is what modern leaders and politicians do, it doesn't change the reality. People may also need motivation but that does not mean actions not just actions STRONG AND RECOGNIZED actions should be taken to change the harsh nature of the world as much as possible. It may not seem as critical as others in these conversations but as for my point of view as a thirteen-year-old, it sounds the most sensible and touching to me.

A big conversation with a lot of criticism of the current state of things but no solution-driven conversation sadly. We only know that the COP is not doing enough, but what should they be doing ? We need to have a plan, what is going to replace fossile fuels ? Which laws should be followed by governments to aply these changes ?

All systems that runs on oil or a oilbased product, will stop working if we stop pumping up oil. And manny things that we use every day is made of an oilbased product. How will they replace oilbased products? How about computers? How about transport? Boats, planes, trains they all use some things made out of an oilbased product. Just how would they like to replace all of that? Do they even think about it? I'll think I say: "The ancient oracle said that I was the wisest of all the Greeks. It is because I alone , of all the Greeks, know that I know nothing". These girls needs to know how everyting is made , and what it is made of, before they go out and try to change things.
