A Conversation with John Lithgow

In the late 90s, I was working as a picture framer in Amherst, Massachusetts. An elderly couple came in with a signed cast photo of '3rd Rock from the Sun', and I said that I was a big fan of the show and suggested they get preservation matting so that the picture won't get ruined over time. The couple pointed to John Lithgow and said that is our son. I didn't gush (which is so unlike me!), but I said "Oh wow!" They said they would tell him how nice I was and that I like the show. Some time later, they came back to the frame shop with a picture he sent them with my name and "Best, John Lithgow" :-)
