A conversation with Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman, the pioneering scientists whose pursuit of mRNA technology led to life-saving vaccines for COVID-19. In this discussion, they illuminate their discoveries and challenges, recount how their partnership made Philadelphia a birthplace for mRNA vaccines, and share future applications they envision. The event was hosted by the Philadelphia Program Committee of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and includes remarks by Kathleen Hall Jamieson and Nora S.
