The interview was a mix of English and Khmer on purpose. It’s meant to bridge Khmer and Khmer American. He said this on his post.

I love this interview and both Khmer and English languages were spoken. I love that Vannda is articulate and is very prideful of his heritage. I hope the younger generation can educate & research the history and will want to visit Cambodia. Cambodia is so rich in music, history, culture, food, combat and so forth. 🇰🇭🙏🏽🇰🇭 He’s right not a lot of people have heard of Vannda or his music. I was fortunate enough to be put onto his music by my cousins during my visit to Phnom Penh in 2020. I knew Vannda was destined for greatness! Keep repping and be the voice for us.🇰🇭👌🏽

I'm a grandma and always want to listen to Vannda's songs. Everyday, I get up in the morning ready for work and turn on Vannda's songs on KZbin and energy starts roaring and going. I would forget daily life stresses. I would like to see Vannda often more visits in USA. He is an Idol for new generation and always positive mindset and making the small world knows one and another through the music. I really like your interviews with Vannda. Thank you for sharing video. Wishing you all good health and stay safe. Bye.

Vanda i would say your an idol to all Cambodians, Cambodian-Americans and Cambodians mix all throughout the world! Our language is hard to translate into rap to the modern day musics. Musics is a world language. I also want to say your musics are very strong with lots of meanings that is very touching for our ancestors to our the new generation. Great job with your work and your gift. Continue what you do. Your an inspiration indeed!

The interviewer should speak Khmer.

I think you missed the mark with your comment. Vannda demonstrated in his songs and this interview that he is a BRIDGE between the Khmer and the Khmer diaspora outside of the country that may not speak Khmer fluently. Therefore, the interviewer shouldn’t need to speak Khmer as long as he understands Vannda.

you have to understand that many young khmer americans struggle with speaking the language because the emphasis growing up in america was to assimilate and that was by learning the english language, but with that came a sacrifice to our khmer language. and that's what makes vannda's music unique is that you don't have to fully understand each khmer word to relate to his music and understand his message. at the end of the day, whether you speak khmer or not, khmer blood still runs inside you, the same blood that built the angkor empire, the same blood that was spilled on the streets and jungles, and the same blood that now rises from the ashes.

Vannda is Khmer the interviewer is also Khmer they should only speak Khmer why speak English? If you are Khmer and proud how the fock you can’t speak or understand Khmer?

As you are free to have your own opinion, Vannda should be free to speak in whatever language he is comfortable speaking. It’s up to us as fans to do our own translations no matter the language.

Just your opinion. They both did exceptionally well. Vannda did great, he demonstrated that he is the BRIDGE between the Khmer and Khmer diaspora outside of the country that may not speak Khmer fluently.

that's what's great about living in america, you have no box to fit in, you're free to express yourself as you please, some words in khmer hit deeper when expressing an emotion, as do some english words. just like in his songs, he mixes khmer with english so it's only fitting that he did the same in the interview.
