A “beast of burden” is basically a work animal - like a mule or a horse that has to pull something or carry something for someone. Mick’s basically saying I’m not your door mat I think.

From the album "Beast of Burden" is on: "Respectable" "Shattered" and their brief trip into disco, "Miss You." Beware of anyone suggesting that you react to the innocent-sounding Stones song, "Star Star"--it's a great song, but raunchy lyrics that leave nothing to the imagination.

I'm a Stones fan through and through. One of my favorite memories involving a Stones song was from The Big Chill. My mom loves cleaning house while the movie rolls because the soundtrack is on point. She was working in a corner of her room, I was sitting on her bed watching the movie when JoBeth Williams is on the church organ, playing her friend's favorite song. I look at my mom and say, "This is the Rolling Stones, isn't it? You Can't Always Get What You Want?" I recognized the song on the organ before they transitioned to the Stones. Mom was shocked because I was about 9 at the time. Great song and great band.

As a "baby boomer" (72 y.o.), I recall the RS's and the Beatle's being two of the top1 British Invasion bands who got their start back in the early '60s, first in Europe and later moving across the "Pond" to the States. When they got here, one of their first gigs was on the Ed Sullivan show in NYC, a weekly hour-long variety show that was very popular for many years. Their acts filled concert halls and sports stadiums. At first their songs came out on 45 rpm records, which were monaural and held only two songs, one per side. Then later in the '60s they moved to the 33 1/3 rpm stereo albums. Their songs were almost always on the top 40 stations like WABC in NYC hosted by the disc jockeys Cousin Brucie and Harry Harrison and on the west coast, Wolfman Jack. Those and other bands experimented with many different sounds and themes and their music was a major influence on my generation. Of course, many parents, like my own, were horrified by this 'new' and different sound.

I saw them on their second US tour in 1964. The Stones rabbit hole is DECADES deep. Hundreds of songs. Get to it! Love ya, PJ 😘

"Gimme Shelter" is probably my favorite RS song, mostly because of Merry Clayton's vocals. I know Jay has reacted to it but has Amber heard it?

Jordan and Amber great job, you have grown so much in reacting to 60's, 70's and 80's music. You have brought back some really good memories to this 71 year old man. I would like to recommend an awesome Stones song ( loaded with guitars and horns ) CAN'T YOU HEAR ME KNOCKING. This song is fire. Enjoy

Love it. "You Can't Always Get What You Want" from Rock and Roll Circus; Mick Jagger with Peter Tosh "Walk & Don't Look Back"; Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones, "Baby Please Don't Go"; and any of the early stuff "Get Off Of My Cloud" and "Under My Thumb" in black and white and "19th Nervous Breakdown" in color. God Bless you also.

Stone's brilliance exampled in this one song. The secret I think of The Stones music is that it always sounds loose and relaxed when it is really tight. The guitar work on this is phenomenal - layered , subtle, tasteful and perfect.

Good song. You probably need to also hear "Jumping Jack Flash", "Brown Sugar", and "Honky Tonk Women".

The Stones live at the TAMI show was an amazing early performance. Also there's a concert video from 1972 called Ladies And Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones, which is prime Stones. Frankly, you can't go wrong with those guys.

Early Stones is my jam. "Ruby Tuesday" , "Wild Horses", "Paint It Black" , "Mothers Little Helper" etc ...and a little bit later they did "Shattered" awesome song. One of favorites is "Far Away Eyes" that song is a very different song and so much fun.

This is one of my favorite Rolling Stones hits! My favorite live performance was Mick Jagger with Tina Turner at Live Aid in 1985. They performed a medley of State of Shock and Its Only Rock and Roll! It’s really an amazing performance! FYI: Beast of burden is a term used to describe an animal used to carry heavy loads such as a donkey or mule!❤️❤️
