That consist was a practice in the early 1960s, marshalled diesel pilot, steam to heat the train.

Out of all of the years on KZbin, you are the only person on KZbin that has beautifully portrayed the railway at the night time; the most majestic time of railway travel.

If only I had more opportunities! For those of us old enough to remember when steam at night was the norm, it's sheer nostalgia. This same empty stock working last year was hauled by a pair of Black Fives and it took me straight back to being an eight year old waiting for the Holyhead boat train in 1953 on the old Manchester Exchange station. Only the elderly can remember these things today, I'm afraid.

Steam at night is otherworldly. Probably the only element that would put night photography up a notch in my opinion, would be a snowfall with wind swirling it around in the beams of light. Thank you for bringing this to us.

I did wonder the trains are even more interesting in the evening simply you see different goods trains later in day so it’s something completely different from the daytime videos

I don't often get the opportunity to film at night - and, as you can see, it does present problems! However, it can produce some very atmospheric results. Glad you enjoyed it - have a fun Hallowe'en!

I didn't see any sign of "chaos". All very efficiently managed in actual fact and so the title was disingenuous, inappropriate and disrespectful to the Power Box signalman on the south panel in the circumstances.
