Sincere gratitude to you, David! Spirit brought me to ACIM and to you! I wanted to share something re your comment here about ..."God believes in you..." paraphrasing as that might not be your precise wording... but some months ago during a trip that took us through several states, we were listening nonstop to ACIM with you! We were listening to the lesson "I Am Determined to See Differently" when I looked out the window (in KS at this point) and saw a giant billboard that had a picture of Jesus, with the words "I Believe in You" and it penetrated my heart at once! Jesus was telling me that He trusted in me!!! Only sometime later did I realize the intent of the billboard was the reverse... that we should trust in Jesus. But talk about seeing it differently. I try to hear these words as Spirit sent them to me to hear. I feel that swirl of Divine love surrounding my heart every time I relive this moment. Indeed, God believes in me... indescribable to dive into that! Peace, friend, and deepest thanks!

I have a friend who is not affiliated with any spiritual group or practice. The relationship has been often very challenging to me. I think I have blamed the problems mostly on him because he is not as "spiritual" as I am. ! He laughs at everything and the other day when I was upset at something he looked at me very intently and said "Everything is funny!" Wow. I think that I have a lot to learn from him.

Good to see you back David! I was worried you hadn't uploaded any videos lately as you have become one of my touchstones for the Course. Hope everything is okay. This video brings up one of the most difficult things for me to understand related to the teachings of the Course. I know the world and all suffering is an illusion, and when we realize this we can let it all go with gentle laughter. But when you are in the moment of seeming suffering it is so very difficult to understand and apply this. We all have our examples. Mine now is my elderly mother being ravaged with dementia, despondent over her increasing loss of mental and physical abilities, in frequent physical pain, crying and calling out for her mother sometimes all night long. How can I or anyone else possibly laugh at this or see it from a comical point of view? Please help me understand so I can possibly get over this great barrier to my final acceptance and understanding of the Course. I've been a student of the Course for decades but laughing at suffering is just something that's been incredibly hard for me to comprehend. I've had a Jesuit education and am a psychotherapist, so helping people with suffering has been one of my missions in life, though I came to realize psychology doesn't really offer much in the way of meaningful change and that intervention at the spiritual level is the only way to effect real change. Thank you David.

Hi Doug, The first realization for healing the mind is that all apparent problems are always a perceptual problem. That there are no problems apart from the mind, and as the saying says "nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so." This realization is the aim of the ACIM WB mind training, and open the way for the shift in Purpose from wrong-mindedness to right-mindedness. It is true that "suffering is just something that's been incredibly hard for me to comprehend." In fact it is impossible to understand. Yet peace and understanding go together, and cannot be found apart. I have often said that the Course is 1 % Principle and 99% practice, and I talk about the "understand" trap in this workshop's whole discussion, which will be made available as an audio on many platforms in the coming days. Forgiveness experience and acceptance precedes "understanding," and thus the Course cannot be "intellectually understood." Showers of Love, David ❤❤❤

I admit I've often approached the Course from an intellectual standpoint because it's the most profound work I've ever come across in all my studies. And I know Jesus warns against this as well.
