I dated Tamlin... this book was my therapy. There were signs in ACOTAR that tamlin was narcissistic and controlling but I didn’t really pick up on them at the time and I didn’t notice the red flags in my own relationship for what they were. This series helped me to let go of the guilt I felt for not being what my ex wanted (much like feyre playing housewife), recognize I was in an extremely toxic relationship, and the blame was not on me. Rhysand showed me what love actually is... freedom not safety. I read this book in one sitting and then multiple times afterwards and recommended the series again and again. I don’t think it is the most amazing in terms of the writing style but there are so many good lessons and Sarah’s books are always a pleasure to read 😉

I would not say Feyre was actually demeaned in the throne scene. She asked Rhysand to let her participate. And it was all just a show. The lust was real, but everything wasn't. Kind of like a sub/dom relationship (in this scene) where the dom only does things the sub is okay with.

I only read this series this year (yes, i am late to the part, but better late than never) but I loved it from the first page and I had so many moments where I wanted to scream from both happiness and frustration because this series was a carousel of emotions. Girl, I read ACOMAF last year and now I really, really want to read it again. Like, watching you talk about it, it felt like I was watching myself, except I didn't know anyone who had read it back then, so I couldn't even share all my feels! I can't put into words how much I absolutely LOVE this book. Feyre and Rhys are the kind of love story that you can't help but just dive into with them, and I was exactly like you. I’m with you on Tamlin, I don’t hate him. I don’t like him in the end but not hate. I feel like he was broken just like Feyre, and to me two broken people can’t make it work. I loved how Feyre said that the girl that loved him died that day under the mountains. The problem with Tamlin was that he wasn’t listening to Feyre and what she needed. She was suffering from PTSD and he turned a blind eye to that (not on purpose) in the name of protecting her. He was just in protective mode like she was a human who needed protection. I feel like it consumed him, and that’s how he viewed her...and he also had this traditional view, were the wife took care of the house and looked pretty. That’s not a bad thing if you want to be a kept woman (wife). That however was not who Feyre was. She was growing into a new person and he just wanted her to stay the same. I believe he love her...it’s just not healthy for either of them.
