Fun Fact: my great grandmother on my mom's side bought me a set from Hawthorne Village ages ago. They could at least have used one of the USA 0-6-0Ts the US left behind after the war. And obviously they don't need a bloomin' tender either!
@eskieguy9355 Жыл бұрын
The version in the US is only $89.99, with $13.99 for P&H, and there are currently 4 issues, which I suspect they'll keep crapping these out as long as enough people keep coughing up the money. Track sold separately. The fourth issue is a flatcar with the funeral carriage on it.

At 5:20 I was 100% thinking you were gonna put E next to the vil, but villains works to lol. Plus, it's even more funny knowing that the loco is made of parts from multiple different Bachmann on30 locomotives, truly "handcrafted," huh.
@freebrickproductions Жыл бұрын
Apparently the frames of these (and likely the mechanisms) are made by Bachmann, but everything beyond that is apparently done by Hawthorne Village... I suppose there's also the fact that the people who are likely gonna be buying these aren't exactly gonna be running them...

I think our late queen would come back just to haunt their bums off for this monstrosity. Well you know how you've done the worse to commemorate HM, now you have to review the platinum jubilee by Hornby ( I believe it's the R30231West country no. 70 "Elizabeth II")

I was 7 minutes into the video before I realized it made absolutely no sense to have an American esque locomotive commemorating the queen.

Oh. My. Life! This is frankly the most amusing thing IN THE WORLD!! I heard this was made by Bachmann though idk. Did you see the latest email I sent? 😊

haha thank you!! It's extremely amusing isn't it?! I don't know about whether it's Bachmann - certainly possible! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@garrymartin6474 Жыл бұрын
It's not made by Bachmann, Its made by some Chinese manufacturer who are using the moulds that were used to make a model for Bachmann, It has happened before to other brands, LGB for example who have models made in China.

@@garrymartin6474 I've heard that when the Bosses go home, the entire production turns over to fulfilling orders secretly secured by the "night team". Before the day shift returns, everything is swept and cleared up and standard fulfillment continues. All done with military precision (unlike the models) 👍

Hi Sam, it's as ridiculas as Hornby once relasing a Hall class locomotive in red, naming this "Lord Westwood" and displaying the company's telephone number on the tender!

A wonderful review of a marvelous travesty - you should use it in your opening titles from now on! Certainly collect the tender and coaches in deference to the Old Queen, now sadly departed - like the last train to Clarksville! Thanks for uploading.

"The Bradford Exchange is an American producer and seller of collectible goods, jewelry, sports memorabilia and apparel" What? An American company is behind this. Never would have guessed 😂😂
@SamsTrains Жыл бұрын
haha I know right... not at all blindingly obvious ;D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@PrinzEugen176 Жыл бұрын
It's absolutely a product of/commissioned from Bachmann, you can see it in the 'American' sets they produce, the track is either Bachmann E-Z or Walthers Power-loc, the locomotives are the Old tooling Bachmann F units, you can even catch some Bachmann sets in whole, like the N-scale "Super Chief". Another thing on that 'either or' track situation, they sell EZ track accessories, like the crossing gates, while giving out Power-loc Track, there is an adaptor set for that produced by Walthers, but Bradford doesn't sell it on their site.

I've just checked Crawley's 'The Great Northern Railway in Focus', and on p.54 is illustrated a Baldwin H1 2-6-0, bought by Doncaster when The Works was full for new orders. Obviously a different wheel arrangement and w/o Walschaert's valve gear, but the actual modelling of the area around the front running plate and cylinders / steam chests is remarkably accurate LOLOL.
@williamsquires3070 Жыл бұрын
I was going to say, “gaudy”, but some of the American (4-4-0 wheel arrangement) locomotives that took part in the “Golden Spike” ceremony in Utah were all shiny and brass-plated, too, though I don’t recall any of them being painted blue.
@nicholai1008 Жыл бұрын
The Central Pacific locomotive ‘Jupiter’ was painted predominantly blue, although it had a black boiler jacket.
