Great review and I don’t think the engraving devalues the watch at all. It shows what it meant to the original owner. Do you mind me asking what it’s sold for??

It is my private Cartier Gondole horizontale Jumbo from the 70s. Very rare. Estimates are like 50-60 made. NFS.. thanks for asking.

Oefff, an inscription on the caseback oke, but on the sides??? To me it feels like a sting. It would have meant the world to me if it was my fathers old watch, but from a stranger?

I would go as far as to say “ruined”, but yes, the obsessive engraving on the case sides does offset a lot of the vAlue for me that was built up from all the paperwork. It’s really going to limit the range of interested buyers…it’s more for friends or relatives….

Yeah, l agree…in my previous comment I said the engraving offsets sets a lot of the provenance, not the other way around.
