I long for the Gowron and more Klingon episodes. And I hope to god they do DS9 and Voyager so I'll have 15 more years of this.

I don't know what annoys me more. Data blatantly not acting like Data and nobody sussing that out AGAIN or a sick old man being able to overpower a physically superior android and switching him off.

"A bit of fry and laurie" was so named for the English expression "a bit of" something meaning a small sample or taste of it, which worked since the show was a sketch show of fry and Laurie's stage characters. So it was "bits" of their performances.

Also "bit" in comedy refers to a joke or hook in a scene

They were not just in a bit of fry and laurie (best comedy show ever) but in the great Blackadder and jeeves amd wooster. They are comedy besties.

"but then why is luc bald?" there's actually a joke about that from sfdebris where its like "we can have warp drives, phasers, and fully change your face to a whole different species" "what about my hair? can you give me my hair back?" "obviously that's beyond medical science."

As mentioned in the beginning schizoid has to do with people who prefer to be alone and don’t like other people and Ira Graves is such a person, the episode is not a misnomer.

Schizoid and Schizophrenia are actually two different disorders, people often hear one and think the other, i'm only 5 mins into so maybe this is pointed out later but yea.

It's also based on reality. As an example, United States nuclear submarines are piloted by the most junior crew member of the boat. Compared to everything else on the boat that needs to be done, steering is among the most basic and easiest tasks and allows the more experienced people deal with the more complex and important duties.

late to the comments, but as I recall, Data has a little applicator he uses to Enbearden himself. Just like a little handheld doohickey that he waves over his face to add follicles or something. I don't know that they ever show him using it directly, but I vaguely recall him having a beard and putting something down while at a mirror and that being the implied thing he used to beard up. And even if that's just something my imagination decided to add to my memories of TNG, it feels like that's how he would do it. Because the characters in the show seem to favor having a little device that does one thing, or a specific subset of things related to a single task. So having a reverse-razor feels like it would be the kind of thing that come standard as part of grooming kits so you can trim, or cut or shave or whatever until you get the look you want. Very much a setting where 'there's a tool for everything, and for everything a tool'.

i love how this episode basically foreshadows the plot of BOTH seasons of Picard.

I got a scam email from “The Post Office” but it was from a random hotmail address. They provided a doggy link to “update my address”. I was exhausted and barely functioning, so nearly clicked it. It was the fact it was a Hotmail email address that made me stop, because I HATE them enough that it jumped out at me and snapped me out of it. What kind of crappy scammer uses a random Hotmail address to pretend to be the actual official Uk Post Office

About the beard thing, they could've made Data try different styles of beards and mustache, even after he was possessed, which would show that he has some influence. Make him start with full lumberjack style and progress through muttonchops, Salvador Dali (a homage), handlebar mustache to Charlie Chaplin lip wig, and more. And by the end of episode he would have decided to be as smooth as a baby's butt....
