Alright. These trucks are probably the best thing to watch. I will tell all of you, I know each and everyone of the big rig pullers personally. Mark Riggle is my grandfather ( Something from Nothing). Pat Riggle is his nephew ( Black Thunder)The Lindsey's are very close to my family. We all know each other and they all are the best group of people to be around.

@james bradley they twist under load because of the EXTREME TORQUE their hopped up engines are producing, that frame is good for reliably towing trailers 100,000 lbs and also the ability to bend is where they get their strength from, if it was rigid it would just snap

None of this in OZ, i lived there summer of 2011-12, from melborne to upper quensland. Aussie day car show in Brizzy was canceled due to rain,,UNTIL THE NExT PHAWKIN YEAR...wth? why dont more motors use superchargers? arent they the same thing as turbo chargers but get power directly from the motor instead of the exhaust and as a result charge up faster???
@biggrigger33210 жыл бұрын
The turbo charger, uses already used power to make more power, also not driven off of the motor, super chargers do.
@2233redwing10 жыл бұрын
Detroit often uses "superchargers" aka roots blower to supply the engine with huge amounts of air. The problem with the system is, it taxes and robs the engine of power sometimes up to 20 percent or in larger engines 45 bhp. For manufacturers, they have to balance cost with efficiency.
@johanneswarn548810 жыл бұрын
A supercharger (as stated above) takes a lot more power to actually make power. You get a more linear power curve at the price of horsepower.
@josephbarovich873310 жыл бұрын
aah, i understand
@SoFloCamejo9 жыл бұрын
The Detroit diesels need the super chargers to run for scavenging, ie. to get the exhaust out of the their valves and push more air in because it is a 2 stroke motor, without a supercharger it can't run.

I don't think that makes any sense. You need RPMs to make power, and you can't make RPMs with tall gearing. TORQUE might be different.

wildfire is one bad truck but however it didn't shift gears so that means it has a manual transmission and besides the Allison is a bus transmission and would never pull more than 7000lbs but that Detroit v12 is totally beast it's loud and proud
@justforever967 жыл бұрын
First, an automatic has to shift gears too, unless it's a CVT. Second, if it "can only pull 7,000lbs" what the hell is it doing in a pull truck? Hell, a bus weighs more than 7,000lbs!
