It was not that bad, actually. We only walked in the dark for like 20 minutes until we reached the trailhead 😅

Nice video! I did this hike, but only up Ishiwari and back. Also taking the bus from Busta Shinjuku there. The amount of stairs really was a bit ridiculous, At some point they're so high it's literally all you can see.. Even though I took an early bus, I didn't really manage to do anything else in the area, which was shame. But it's a really nice hike for people who are staying multiple days, or have been to the area before and want to do something new.

If you want to hike and do other things, one day in Yamanakako is not enough, I think. We stayed there for two days because we forgot to book a bus back to Tokyo 🤣 so that's also why we took our time. But yeah, the stairs were killing me and they're so common in hiking trails in Japan, too. Hopefully Mt. Fuji showed up on your last hike here.
