Great explanation of how to use Sonlight IG's daily schedule. May I ask why you don't use Sonlight's Creative Expression? What writing curriculum do you use instead? We are also on Level D, working on Week 4.

Hi Carmelita! First of all, thank you so much for watching! I don't really know why I haven't been using the Creative Expression sheets...I don't really have an answer. It's not because they aren't good, I really just wasn't drawn to use them. We use a book called "Daily Grams" which is a quick grammar lesson each day, and I also recently discovered "TIME 4 Writing" online. So, that is how my kiddos are doing their writing and grammar at the moment. I love that we are going through the same Core right now! How are you liking it? Are you new to Sonlight or have you been using it for a while? Hope you guys are enjoying your school year!

Hi Our Crazy-Fun House! Thank you for your reply. We are 3rd year Sonlighters. The creative Expression has been working well(with the exception of Core/Level D). For some reason, my daughter is not enjoying it as much as she did the previous cores-maybe because it is a little more in depth with writing this time around. I did a 6 week trial using The Good and the Beautiful Language Arts; And she loves it! But, I don't feel there was enough creative writing...definitely a lot of the mechanics of grammar. We now alternate every other week with Sonlight Language Arts and The Good and the Beautiful Language Arts. This seems to be working well, no more tears and frustration. But it will a long stretch of Language Arts this school year. Thanks for sharing the other writing curriculum that you use.
