The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is one of the accommodations that I've stayed at when I've had to conduct business in the immediate area. The first time I asked the front desk for the best way to reach my business appointment. I was told to cross the street from the hotel to Shinagawa Station, and then walk through to the other side. If you took the early morning Shinkansen on a weekday, you might have been confronted with quite a sight. On that first trip through to my business appointment, the concierge told me to walk on either the left or right side of the massive central walkway. He especially recommended that I use the left side because of my destination. I thought his instructions were a bit cryptic, or my Japanese was somewhat lacking. But I quickly understood when I entered the station at about 7:35 AM on a weekday. The center of the concourse had a mass of people with nearly everyone dressed in black that just kept coming and coming toward me - kind of reminded me of the "Matrix" with Keanu Reeves. I immediately chose the left side where people proceeding in the opposite direction like me were using (besides the right side with people also heading in the same direction). Once I reached the opposite entrance to the station, it became very evident why the concierge recommended that I take the left side of that massive corridor - if I took the right side, I would have had to literally fight through the huge mass of people entering the station and walking through the center of the station - causing an untold amount of inconvenience for them. Apparently, in the late afternoon, this flow of humanity is reversed. Sure enough, I went back just to check whether my suspicions were correct, and it was certainly just that. In spite of this massive mass of people walking through a train station that I have never before seen/experienced, everything was so orderly and purposefully quick in pace. It was one of those Japan experiences that I can honestly say I will never forget, and just adds to my very long list of reasons why I love visiting this country time after time.

Thank you for that info! I wish we could've recorded that but we always used the trains during not very busy hours and we left around 6 am from Shinagawa Prince Hotel weekday

@@DylanBrianVlogs No worries. The content in your video was far more impressive and useful for anyone visiting Japan. So much so, that I'm considering purchasing a drone.

Did you have a permit for the drone? all Unmanned Aircraft of 100g or more are subject to registration
