A Day in League One: Charlton-Wrexham 2-2

The sportstorytales journey through English stadiums continues. Today we went to Charlton to watch the match between the home team and Wrexham, the second team in the English League One. The match ended 2-2, which, in my opinion, is the fairest result based on what we saw on the pitch. Overall, the match was very hard-fought and physical between two teams fighting for promotion to the Championship. What struck me, however, was the warmth of the Charlton fans and the closeness between the fans and their home favourites. The Valley exudes that smell of old football that is still trying to resist, despite the advancement of comfortable, modern but aseptic stadiums.
