A Day in My Life (#25): I'm wearing a summer kimono!

Ryosuke and I joined a tour to explore Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Ehime. This was the first day of the tour - it was a blast.
It's been ages since I spent a full day in Tokyo doing tourist-y things :)

What I love about this footage, especially the night one from their hotel room balcony, is that a camera - even a very good one - can't see as well as your eyes. So it's pretty to me, watching what they recorded. But standing there? In person? Looking out over the city at the lights twinkling and cars on the roads and the smells and feel of the wind . . . that must have been just amazing.

I don't get it either. Iced coffee is everywhere. Hell the Algerians have been doing it since the 1840's. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee style is a classic too, it's been done since at least the 1950's.

How does it work, though? You pour hot coffee inside and it melts? Or you wait for a coffee to become room temperature and then pour (that would make sense but would also take a lot of time) ?

Hi Ryosuke and Grace, I noticed that you put ice in your coffee. I suggest trying "cold brew" coffee. I tried it at an open market in my home city of Boston. Cold brew means soaking the fresh coffee grounds in water and to let it seep for about 24 hours. Then you filter the brew to separate the grounds and liquid. Cold brew has a smoother flavor and harder punch of caffeine

I always just assumed that the tour packages would be a waste of money since you could theoretically do/plan everything on your own. But I bet it's nice to just sit back and not have to worry about all the logistics of the trip. Looks like a fun day - can't wait to see tomorrow.
