I've also recently gotten into writing and its so fun! Doing my first novel and I'm 45k words in. Hoping to finish draft one this month! :D I too operate as a plotter and I find it best to give myself limits. My characters get ONE character sheet with x amount of information. I plan my plot to x degree and then start writing. I'm not worried about what color the side table is until the chapter is getting WRITTEN!! I'm also not allowed to do things I'm excited about till later. No writing social media account till I finish draft 1. No planning my book launch party till I finish with beta readers...and so on. It keeps the process exciting (or, at least, I hope it will)

i‘m really happy to be part of this era you’re entering. i think it’s my favourite thing about being a living energy, the growing and finding yourself. it’s really fun and stressful, and it helps in the long run. ive been writing since i was 12, ive planned out so many novels and have yet to finish any bc none feel like the one. but it’s fun, bc you get to put your creativity to the test. you’re killing it, doing amazing and i can’t wait to see how you go about this 🥹🫶🏾

I've written several books, but have never actually had more than one completely done, and that's what I'm working on now. I'm hoping I finish this one and don't leave it abandoned like my other ones. I'm both a pantser and plotter, some books I plot, and some I just go with it, and return back to change things if it makes a plot hole.

i feel like we have very similar vibes. i am so into plot and magic develpement that i cant wait to dig deeper thru writing... my mind is always racing with tthoughts of how the world is enthralled in magic and i have the idea of characters but i feel like i am not so good at developing a character. but i never sat down and started writing them ive only ever gone as far as thinking vaguely about them. but i love magic and i love reading about it and how it can be different in so many different books.

I've written and self-published a few books now. It was pretty amazing to finish, and the readers agreed. The biggest thing that helped me finish my books was having a main character I wanted to write more of. Not even a heroic character, but someone who was so compelling and had such a good conflict I had to finish their story even when the middle parts got dragging. The rest of the book just flowed from there. Good luck to you! PS: you can watch tv on one screen and write on another. It can even help with inspiration!

I finished the brainstorming and basic plots of the first volume of my series like last year, but still haven't begun to actually write it. I did put it in my planner to start again in a few weeks. I'm defintiely more successful with a plotter but I prefer to just jump in. Can't wait to hear updates about yours!

I started my locs with braids and I was loced within 6 months so I think it really depends. I have really soft hair so it kept untangling in the twist. I live near the beach so I did a lot of salt rinses which helped

I’d recommend getting into some writing workshops. I majored in English language and literature and I got a minor in creative writing. The most helpful thing for me when working on writing projects is workshopping with a variety of peers. And not just other writers who write within the same genre as you. I wish you the best of luck! Writing is one of the most challenging and laborious things one can do. I’m excited for the work you put out into the world.

I read (most of it cause I dropped it) shatter me and imo it was mediocre. Some others may enjoy it, but I didn’t like the lack of world building, so things were just sprung up to me with no explanation and the romance was STALE.

I think the world has taught us to limit out expectations when we do things to shelter us from a lot of rejection and scrutiny. but you truely only live this life once, so you might as well do everything you want in it! Write your novel and do it without doubt because you can't be judged for having an idea and writing about it with the passion you have. Continue and have fun with it! Do not stress yourself and believe in yourself!
