I live in North America and this was pretty normal from day to day. But I think what makes the video so special is seeing it from the eyes of someone who is new to the American culture and being so immersed by it. I realize its the same refreshing feeling that I get whenever I watch an exchange video in China or Japan and it really makes you appreciate the world around you.

@zcalhoun3638
@zcalhoun3638 3 жыл бұрын
@@marihi2387 yep its the rural schools that are the worst, as bad as the inner-city ones. at least in cities theres magnet and charter public schools. In poor rural ones like mine they can't even afford to fix the roof when it leaks, there's just giant tarps basically, with a pipe running outside. Or there's a class where we turn the heater on and off with a pair of scissors, and the teacher would let everybody sit on the heater bc its so cold. Those kinds of things are common in my school system...this looks rural, but nice. You can kind of tell, the fact that they have a tennis team is one red flag, the mom had zero stress so that's another. I do like the community of small schools tho, and knowing everybody absolutely. In poor school districts you go one step further, you know all the people at the grocery store and coffee shop because they're your fellow students🤩🤩 gotta love a country that divides each school system by the tax brackets of the area, thus leaving poor districts poorer and rich districts richer

actually really true. i went to a school in the more ghetto part of town. i surrounded my self with the kids who wanted to learn and focused on their education. we had simple middle school years. we had a lot of fun together. we heard in the background about fights and drama, but we were never involved in it. really true.

I agree, all of my classes were honors so all the kids in those classes just wanted to learn and get it over with. Occasionally, we would hear kids screaming and yelling about fights but that had nothing to do with them so they’d ignore it. I’d say middle school was pretty peaceful for me.

My High School would freak out if students • Ate lunch in the classroom • Had a hat or a Hoodie on • Didn’t have an ID on • Were anywhere but the cafeteria or outside before class starts • had an empty classroom • didn’t have any shooter threats every month • or had an exchange student because my school is a place nobody wants to go to People literally wear a confederate flag as a cape Let me know if your school is the same👇🏼

This made me think about all the things I missed out in high school. I was really shy and afraid about what people would say about my accent or just won’t accept me because of I’m from a different country. But when I see your videos I see how accepting they are, respectful and open about learning more about you culture, it makes me nostalgic just the thought of “what could’ve been if...” hopefully I can be more open now that I’m in college, it’s just that I feel like in high school it was easier to make friends because HS is fairly easier than college; in college everyone is focused on them and their careers that they barely have the time to make friends, sadly I realized this late I wish I could’ve enjoyed my time in high school. I hope you’re doing well and made lots of memories I loved your video❤️
