Pann P Heyy quick question. I’m also considering an exchange semester and I’m torn between Europe and Singapore. I really do like both. Europe is nice for traveling and all but top uni in Singapore would look hella good on a résumé and I think I can vibe with the sg people. Would you mind telling me the reasons you chose NUS over others? Is there any extracurricular activities you did when you were there? Thank youuuuuu

Thank you! I would personally prefer to live in UTown since most of my friends are there plus the good study spaces and food courts are also there. I ended up spending most of my time there so you wouldn't really miss out much but it would be a hassle to commute from your hall which is on the opposite side of the campus. Hope you have fun on your exchange!

@@hannahaseltine8036 Email/Call the campus hostel department in the office of student affairs and request if it is possible to switch to an accommodation in UTown. @PannP4 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s very useful because I use it to annotate on lecture slides, which are also posted online. However, I would still recommend having a laptop since you may have to do presentations and it’s kind of difficult to do it on an iPad. Hope you have a great time at NUS!

I lived in Raffles Hall, and as an engineering student, it was a great location since I could easily walk to classes. But I would still recommend utown since almost all my friends lived there and I ended up spending most of my time there. Another good thing about Raffles Hall is that it’s opposite the University Sports Center so you have easy access to the gym and swimming pool.

It won't be without cost, unless your government sponsors you, or you have some outstanding super amazing achievement. Singapore is not a free-sponsor of education for the world. Its the #11 university in the world.
@CaptainNoch4 жыл бұрын
NUS is not free regardless of how good you are. The best you can get is a good scholarship that could finance most of your fees. NUS also prefers locals which can make it hard for international students to compete unless you have exceptional grades. Tuition fees are also very high for foreigners. In most cases, foreigners can be paying twice as much as locals.
@rudro23874 жыл бұрын
@@CaptainNoch nus does nor prefer locals.What a fucking joke.The education minister in Singapore put at 25% cap for singaporeans in university cause he feels that too many young singaporeans are graduating with a degree and it will make the economy unbalanced.You can go read up on it.Foreign talents are preferred

@@rudro2387 Sorry. I was part of the 25% cap you speak of so, I may have turned a blind eye to the realities. If they truly prefer foreign talent, maybe NUS should start making foreigners pay less and locals pay more? I don't think you're even in NUS; I see mostly locals.
