1:29 Do you swim with your pump? Does the water make the sensor fall off?
@BellaBucchiotti4 жыл бұрын
I usually take my pump off when I am doing physical activities. Howe, I swim with my Freestyle on all the time. Both salt and fresh water. It stays on just fine.

I want to give a quick tech tip for your viewers. If your phone is "rooted" or "jailbroken" you won't be able to install the app on it until you grab the actual APK file somewhere and install it that way.

I always put something called " skin tac " under neath it and it makes it stick way better if your super active

Are they expensive? I heard there is a new one out. Have you tried that?
@BellaBucchiotti4 жыл бұрын
they are 100$ which is as much as strips would be :) but this lasts longer and you dont hav to prick your finger. YES the freestyle 2 is amazing!!

@@BellaBucchiotti Was wondering this too, but good point with the similar cost of strips

Hello Bella. My real name is Jason and I am a T1 diabetic also, and so is my daughter, and so was my father and so was his mom. That's my "D" story. Hah. Anyway, onto the reason I am here. Can you just use the app and your phone without the meter? The chemist near me had sensors but no meters. They are very pricey at $120 for a single sensor. I can extend that to a month I think though with a workaround. Even if not a two week break from pricking would be nice, especially in the middle of the night when it's so hard to get back to sleep. So that was my wordy comment and question. Thank you, Bella!
@BellaBucchiotti4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Nice to meet you, the sensor you can scan to your smartphone without a meter, you just need the freestyle app and you can start scanning. There is also freestyle connect app which allows someone else to monitor the sensor as well. For example if your daughter had a freestyle (she would have the freestyle app) and every time she scanned her sensor you could see her results on your phone using the freestyle connect app. The last 14 days and you don’t need to prick your finger :)

@@BellaBucchiotti Thank you for the reply, Bella! Not sure my daughter wants me to know her glucose levels since she is 24 and lives five hours away. :p That is very handy though if you have a young kid that has diabeetus or if you want to team up with someone and support each other. Would have been nice to have when she was a kid. She was diagnosed at 7. Pricking is a pain, but not literally. Especially at say 2am and you suspect a nypo. Have to turn the light on, dig a strip out, prick, and test. Usually wakes me up enough that I can't get back to sleep. Turning the light on mid sleep is the worst.
