I'm a 52 year old American, who has only had the vaguest interest in going to Disneyland, and grew out of that desire by age 12. The only way I know Sanrio is seeing stuff for Hello Kitty and Gudetama for sale, but your video totally made me want to go to Puroland! lol. You looked like you were having so much fun

I feel the same! I'm decades away from the target demographic for a place like this but it's just so gorgeous. Anything immersive, atmospheric and based on the fantasy folk tales and cartoons I grew up watching, I love. I think you'd love a purpose-built village in Japan called 'Yufuin Floral Village' as well as 'Yunokuni no Mori'. It's a craft making village, worth googling or searching for here on KZbin. If you love making things, and you love sweet little Ghibli neo-Provencal architecture and aesthetics then you ought to make a little trip out there and get immersed in artisanal crafts and innocent atmosphere. Another place in the same vein of 'Japan Re-Interprets Europe', is the private garden of Mariko Gonda (you can find good video walking tours of it on KZbin). It's about an hour drive north of Tokyo, she opens it up for public visits sometimes. It's amazing to think of a romantic rose garden like that in Japan. Make a weekend of it...after you go to Sanrio Puroland and the brand new Ghibli them park, ha! You'll need deep pockets I'm afraid: so many gorgeous things to tempt you.

I know! I really is astonishing. Every single person's first visit sees them on the plane home already strategizing ways to raise enough cash in order to fund the soonest possible return visit. I heard something like this given as a playful warning before I went the first time and just smiled and humoured the person but holy smokes, they were right! I was gazing out the window of my flight home already doing the maths in my head, hahaa!

This a fun place in Tokyo, Japan and it is like the Hello Kitty themed Disneyland and I am big fan of Hello Kitty. I have a lot of the Hello Kitty stuff. There are other Sanro characters at the theme park.

I'm 42 years old and the lady I knew about hello Kitty and friends when I was talking about still in high school we had a hello Kitty store and now I really don't see it you guys stuff here in America anymore which I really miss including hello Kitty's evil cousin and the chicken stars and my melody all over to be honest with you but the one thing I don't understand is the egg.
