I played junior football at the Methodist park in my day long long time ago before Astro turf. Good to bring Sekondi highlights to the the world. My School, St John’s School, Sekondi, is the best Boys’ Secondary School in the Western Region.

Shame that you hadn’t done your Research well before embarking on this project. Your video just skated through the city. Sekondi European Town is where you saw The Fish. This is called ‘Independent Circle’ at European Town. European Town was like an Apartheid State in Sekondi where only white people lived,until the early 1940’s when indigenous Professionals began to get get a foothold to live there amongst them. Some of the notable people who lived in European Town include late Lawyer James Mercer Academic Head Master James Davis, Lawyer Christian, Lawyer Abaidoo etc. If you had veered right at the roundabout you would entered European Town proper with Fort Orange, The Naval Base, Fort George, The Railway Station , The Post Office, The High Court and Lower Court and many other historical buildings. Sekondi was the Capital City of Gold Coast after the transfer from Cape Coast. Accra became Capital only near Independence of Ghana. Takoradi was formed later to join Sekondi as Twin city. Hope this short information helps. The surprise for you is that I was born in European Town.

@@yzzzy848 Long before Gold Coast became Independent to become Ghana, the British only referred to a Capital as ‘Administrative District’. Cape Coast became the first Administrative District, because of the Slave trade, and was later moved to Sekondi. Your video missed Fort Orange and Fort George which are situated in European Town. Accra was a very young development on wetland plains to form the new City which is the Capital of Ghana. If Accra floods a lot, then you the answer here. Also Takoradi is a much younger Town development which later became twinned with Sekondi to become Twin cities (Sekondi Takoradi). Sekondi Takoradi is the only Twin cities in the whole of Africa. Sekondi is the oldest town in Ghana. Hope these help you.
