It is weird. I've found hundreds of flat buttons but these were the first to have numbers on them? Numbers are on the back

I have a flat button with a broken shank and a silver side, it says LONDON PLATED on it. What year was those LONDON PLATED buttons made?
@BirdDogg4 жыл бұрын
They were made through a wide space of time with that back mark but I would say you are likely looking at 1830’s-1850’s

what is your knowledge towards english royalty buttons for identifications? specially English civil war buttons 17th century. Probably made by thomas simon the Kings engraver.
@BirdDogg3 жыл бұрын
Fairly limited, most of the buttons I find are American but I may be able to help if you had a question in mind

@@BirdDogg Thomas simon the Kings engraver made and designed rare coins medals etc plus he signed afew coins etc that made them very special and very rare, my question is did he do the same with buttons/cufflinks. Because we all know that charles 2nd loved his jewellery and dress ware.

@@cruzy1969 in a brief cursory search I can find no mention of him having done so but I would say it’s plausible
