I really want to apply but over heard a couple scary things. Maybe you have some thoughts. 1. Is racism widespread on campus? 2. What are the mental health services like? 3. If you’re not apart of Greek life, do people still have a good time at Northwestern? 4. Does the big party scene ever affect any other aspect of life at Northwestern? Academics, safety, etc. 5. How many classes do people normally take at a time? 6. What do midterms look like? Does it depend on the class? Or are most people writing essays? It would be super nice if you could answer my questions. I really enjoyed your video; it was a nice insight into life at the school. Thank you.

Hey Zoe! I'll do my best to answer your questions, but just keep in mind that I can only speak from my experience & everyone has differing experiences during their time at NU! 1. No. In fact, I think NU does a really good job of not only recognizing diversity, but also creating a community of inclusion among all racial groups! 2. I've never used any of the mental health services, but I hear that that can be very useful. In general, they are used as a bridge between students & full-time professional care givers, but I know that some students join support groups that last their whole time while here or as long as they need to. 3. I'm not a part of greek life & I'm having a FANTASTIC time at Northwestern. Your time is what you make if it! 4. Northwestern's party scene is only evident to those who look for it. Depending on how involved you are in partying, that may change the rate at which it affects your own academics & health. 5. Anywhere from 3-5 is the average, but it depends on your preferred workload & course(s) of study. 6. Midterms heavily vary on the class and some start as early as week 3 of the quarter.
