Just found your channel. Great content and exactly what I'm looking for! Will be joining Rutgers this Fall but confused about the different campus. I believe my campus will be Busch so great to see a glimpse of it from your videos. Looking forward to more content!

@@stevenwong7712 thanks for offering! I do have a question about getting to campus. What's the best way to get to Busch campus from Hoboken? I don't have a car so my best bet are train and bus but I can't find a good bus route.
@stevenwong77122 жыл бұрын
@@ans789 Rutgers has a train station on campus, but it's on College Avenue. You can take the train to College Avenue, and then catch a bus to Busch. That's probably to easiest way to get here, and honestly catching a bus doesn't take too much more time, and it's also free.

If you’re wondering what’s the deal with the holes in McCormack…Rutgers was going to build a ninth floor of the high rise portion of the suites. But they failed to research beforehand that Piscataway has a rule that buildings can’t be higher than eight stories. So they had to leave the building as it was…with the holes for the windows. It was like that when I was there in the early 2000s.

Wow, I graduated in 2014 and this brought back so many memories, but also showed some of the changes. The furniture in the Busch dorms are legit the same as 8 years ago, but I am surprised the Busch dining hall is one of the worst, it was one of the better ones in my time.

When I went to Rutgers twenty years ago, Busch was actually the best dining hall on campus. I lived on Douglass, and I would sometimes take the bus up to Busch to get the omelets. Plus the food was better than in Cooper Dining hall. And Livingston used to be the ghetto campus, as there weren’t as many things there as there is now. Plus their old Dining hall, Tillet, was really bad (ten times worse than what you were describing about the food in Busch dining hall now). I still remember someone writing in the bathroom on Livingston “if you eat in Tillet Dining Hall, be sure to know where the closest bathroom is.”

Campus kind of felt like the five boros of NYC with the buses and the five mini-campuses (and diversity and so many different communities - like NY, it feels like a bubble at times; also no one gives a shit about you, which I love). Graduated before you and lived and worked in NY. And like the trains in the city, I always had a love/hate relationship with the bus system 😆. Public transportation forever, though, folks got to get used to it.

Is Pre-med in Rutgers NB worth it over other smaller state schools? I am from out of state and while Rutgers has 2 hospitals nearby with lots of resources, I feel like it is too big and the advisor would give you little attention. How are your experience with your academic advisor?

The most educative years of my life was here at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, 1989 upto 1991. In addition to my American buddies, Afro African n Caucasians, Mainland China origin students who escaped from Tiananmen Tragedies were among my close friends on campus. Truly, my socializing with students from multinational origins broaden my mind horizon that we r all the same kind being what we call human. Rutgers is always in my mind n heart n i consistently recommend my friends n family members to consider it when they plan to study in the Home of the Brave n Land of the Free. I wish Rutgers all the best ever. Amen !

I'm a transfer student at Rutgers, but I'm not dorming because I live close to the university, although it does look like a fun experience living on campus. Are there any other fun things you can do during your free time at Rutgers if you're not dorming?
@stevenwong77122 жыл бұрын
yeah, there’s plenty of clubs and extracurriculars. All you really need to do is be willing to go out and look for them. I know plenty of commuters that have solid friends and are involved in clubs and stuff.

Would you choose Rutgers over Stony Brook if you went back in time?
@stevenwong77122 жыл бұрын
I don’t know much about Stony Brook because I didn’t apply there, but I haven’t really had any second thoughts about Rutgers. My best advice is to visit both campuses and comparing the feel of both schools for yourself.
