Thank you for sharing your experience. It is very useful for people like me who have just obtained the DipFA diploma and want to learn more about the profession. It is interesting that everybody mentions the lack of Financial Advisors and that nearly 50% of the current advisors will retire in the next 5 years. However, it is very difficult to find the right opportunity. It is kind of a contradiction. Do you have any advice on how to get a foot in the industry?

Hi thanks for the interesting video and entertaining content. I have worked in sales for the last 7 years and about to start the R01 with a view to full qualifying. My main aim is to go self employed ASAP. Do you have any other videos on this? Also I can’t gain access to your website to see the resources for financial planners, it’s saying “site is private”. Many thanks :)

Hi Thanks for making the video. Incredibly helpful to someone who's trying to get a feel of what it is like to be a financial advisor! Would you mind sharing your thoughts on non-native English speakers pursuing this career? I like all other aspects of being a financial advisor but do find it require more effort to build a connection with people because of the disadvantage in language and differences in cultural backgrounds etc. Have you seen any successful examples? Many thanks!

Just subbed. I'm really thinking of going into this and just purchased one of the CII courses for a level 4 diploma. Is it typical to start working independently, or would you say it makes sense to start working for a firm? Thanks!

This is an outstanding video, really paints a clear picture about what to expect day to day while being down to earth and not taking yourself too seriously. Really, thank you very much. For the qualifications is there someone you recommend for the training online? I'm not the best sit down and read a book person and react much better to audio and videos with a person talking etc

Thank you! Grateful for you watching and your support. I used Expert Pensions for my AF exams who do both study days and video learning. I know the CII do paid training days but I never used them. Hear they were ok (not brilliant, but ok.) I also used Brand FT for some tests which can be useful, unsure if they do face to face. Beyond that, the majority was learning on the job and studying in my own time. I'm sure there are lots of other in-person routes that I will have not mentioned there though. Wish you all the best with your studies.

What do you think about being an appointed rep of someone like SJP, Quilter or Openwork?
@PrinciplesPersonalFinance Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. For me I've always wanted to be an independent adviser and I feel some of the restricted larger firms offer more sales-type roles where you are there mainly to plug their funds, which are often quite expensive. So not for me. I do however fully appreciate that many have to start somewhere and there's nothing wrong with these roles. On my website link I address some of the issues in trying to find the right firm which may be very challenging at the start of your journey. All the best, George

Whats the average yearly income from each client?
@PrinciplesPersonalFinance8 ай бұрын
That question doesn't make any sense. What are you trying to understand?
@Nobumblegumforyou8 ай бұрын
@@PrinciplesPersonalFinance Each of your client pays a AUM fee, which is a income. I'm trying to ascertain what a realistic figure is based on industry benchmarks for the income received per client and income received per year operating as a Financial Advisor. So e.g. self employed FA year 1 =x, 20 clients. FA year 2=, x, 35 clients. Etc.
