I love how real you are. Your vlogging style makes me feel like a friend getting a peek into your teaching life rather than just a viewer seeing a super polished and perfectly edited vlog. I love the way you think in terms of organization and then how you allow us to see you organize. (I am not naturally a planner or super organized so I learn a lot from you! Haha.) I first started following you because of your classroom set up videos and your thought process in breaking up huge projects ( like setting up your room) in manageable chunks--something I am still learning! Keep doing what you're doing! Stay you and authentic!

Thank you for always being so genuine and funny...I'm much older than you and have been teaching for 21 years but can relate to your style very well. You portray teaching in a very real way (the good and the bad) and the fact that there was a plastic tag on your shirt collar (which must be new) made me think about the time I wore pants that still had the size sticker going down the leg for a WHOLE morning before one of my students asked about it. I love your videos and please keep them coming!

You should do bonus points they are a paper that is shaped like a rectangle and it says bonus point and it have a QR code on it and it’s a app that if you get one you get on the device that have the app and scan the QR code (FYI) you get to put what ever you want to put on the QR code ( hope that was helpful)

I remember doing the multiplication test you were talking about and always feeling upset when I couldn’t finish but very happy when I did. I distinctly remember one girl sobbing because she got so frustrated. I do think it’s good to have to apply what you have learned without any help and looking back they weren’t that bad.

Im a third grade teacher too from TimeToTeach here on youtube. My kiddos also love timed tests, we only do it every so often, but they really enjoy it. I love how you show your messy areas of your room, it makes me feel better, because my desk and area behind my desk are a disaster half of the time, and I have been rearranging my room since the kids came.....ugh I just cant find the 'perfect' way for everything lol! I loved this video. I suggestion about the Eagle tags, maybe a little three drawer. I saw some of them were different colors so maybe three is good enough for the different colors. If they were smaller I would suggest the miniverison. My mentor teacher uses a mini one for her tickets.

When you get it redone - you will feel so much better!!! Caddies didn't work for me. I take 10 minutes at the end of every day, no matter how tired I am or late it is to do a quick pick up. Makes my next day start SO much better. I have also found with particularly messy group - I take about 5 to 7 minutes to teach them how to do, and then it becomes an expectation. It's there room and they should have some responsiblity too.

Hi. Love the videos. For the headphones try over the door coat hooks and O rings on the shoe organizer if needed. Hope that helps!
@lenaaamarie36 жыл бұрын
I’m giving up the the caddies too - kids have destroyed them haha. Instead I just went to the dollar tree and bought storage bins for each of the table groups and we’ll only take them out when we need them. The only thing that’ll be on their desks is their pencil holder. My kids keep playing with stuff in their caddies which is why I’m removing them all together
@kokeshi83526 жыл бұрын
I've never used caddies. I find that having students take care of their personal supplies is much better and a neater solution. I do however have a basket where the left behind supplies go into at the end of the day. Kids are careless and leave pencils and crayons and glue on the floor, so I pick it up and deposit the goodies in that bin. Throughout the year the items in there come and go. It all gets thrown away at the end of the year. I appreciated that your vlog showed the reality of teaching and keeping the room organized. When we are busy teaching, there is little time for anything else, so the classroom ends up looking like a hot mess until a teacher work day.. #teacherproblem. I always enjoy your vlogs young lady, keep up the fantastic work!

I remember learning my times tables.....NOT. I actually never really learned them and started to memorize some the more I did math in the higher grades. My 3rd grade teacher's way of teaching the times tables was to give us the list and make us memorize them. Then our "test" was to stand in front of the whole class and recite them without stuttering. I have always had a hard time memorizing and I was also shy so that didn't work out well for me. So my punishment for not passing my "tests" was to stay in from recess everyday, write my times tables over and over until I could recite them in front of her. This went on for a few months till my mom found out and had me pulled from her math class and into my homeroom teacher's math class. I didn't care for those timed multiplication tests but I did better on them than the alternative and it helped me memorize some of the tables better.

You are a 3rd grade teacher. Decluttering your life is a constant never ending job. I think it's because making a baby represents such a large decrease in local energy, the baby needs to spend the next several years increasing local entropy to make up for the decrease their creation caused. Don't take it personally. It's just physics.
