My horse hates having his tail pulled so I use clippers although I find that when you pull it it looks more natural. I love your videos so much! I have the opportunity to ride and train with a Grand Prix show jumper (Lauren Hester) but I’m not sure if I’m ready yet. In October I’m hopefully going to have a month full of intense training with a really great trainer here in Tennessee and then hopefully go and train with Lauren after that. I loved the video!

Why don’t you just clip it because it’s clearly hurting the horse. She flinched for the longest.

could you make a video on how you cut and pull mane?
@RideandRoam4 жыл бұрын
For sure! I never cut a mane with scissors, I only pull it.

I feel very lucky that my horses live with me. It's just regular horse care and riding for me. I started online teaching on Wednesday which is going to take some balancing. I just don't turn off 😳 So I'm getting less than 4 hours sleep a night which is no doubt going to bite me on the bum soon. 🥺

Having your horses at home is definitely comforting I’m sure during all of this! But I’m the same way, especially in a stressful time like this my brain doesn’t shut off at night! I’d love to hear how online teaching goes for you though! Good luck!

Why do u pull the tail?
@RideandRoam4 жыл бұрын
Hi Reagan! We pull the tail to allow more air flow in a heavy sweat area - thick hair at the top of the tail prevents a horse from cooling down efficiently after a gallop.

@@RideandRoam how hot is it where you live? We don't do that here in Australia lol. Only show riders will do it to make it look neater, but they don't pull it; they clip it.
@RideandRoam4 жыл бұрын
@@realisticequestrian8229 a lot of people here clip as well, but I think it looks nicer pulled. During our eventing season it gets up in the 90s (Fahrenheit) and last year one of the weekends I competed it hit 100. Obviously we take lots of other measures to keep them cool as well!

I'm sorry, but I hope you realize that pulling the tail is obviously hurting your horse. It's reacting everytime you pull! Why don't you just cut it. Please don't hurt your horse! 😭🙏🏻
