Hello Iyke Chukwu, thank you very much for your support. We are glad that our videos have been very helpful. 1. What is the breed? 2. How many birds and how old? 3. What is your current production rate? 4. Where is your farm located?

@PetrosFarms Thank you so much for this quick response.. I really appreciate that.. 1) The name of the breed.. according to the farm we bought it from, its isa brown.. 2) currently we have 2,000 capacity in the farm now. 3) the currently production rate, to be honest I don't really know how to calculate it in percentage, but I will be very happy if you can teach me how to do that.. But currently the 2,000 hen are giving us in numbers of crakes is 34/33 crates per day.. Before now we were getting up to 52-54 per day.. That is Before it started drop earlier this month (August 2024). 4) The location of the farm is Enugu state... Please one more question I want to ask is, can one arrange to come over to petros farm for a visit.. I will love to visit the farm and see how things are been done in the farm and the staffing and other things.. I hope this can be possible, because I am looking to get more experience as my own farm is growing. Petros farm has been a farm that I admire a lot and hope I use them as my benchmark.. Thank you a lot for your time sir/madam.

1. Egg production rate: (number of eggs your made in a day) divided by (number of birds alive) x 100; so in your case you made 34 crates which is (34 x 30) = 1020 eggs; then you have 2000 birds alive. This means your production rate is (1020/2000) x 100 = 51%. You will likely need to sell off these chickens if they are old; except if this is related to feed or something else. We will have to visit to understand the situation. 2. How old are your birds? 3. Regarding you visiting, send us an email. We may arrange our Vet to come to you and see exactly what is going on; and help you learn some management tips. This visit will not be free. Here is our email address: petros@petrosfarms.com

@PetrosFarms Okay thank you so very much.. I will send the email and I also understand that the visit is not free.. The birds are 72 weeks old in total including the 18weeks it takes before it start laying.. We are currently using Hybrid feed since the bird start laying. So we got it as point of lay at the age of 16weeks and they started laying after two weeks. Please what is your advice, should we change feed, and which one do u suggest we should you.. Kind regards..
