I normally try to take time off during the DOT blitz but this year I got stuck on the road during the start of the blitz. Can we make it across country without getting in any trouble???

Lol brokers i had a similar situation with a over length load that was time sensitive and they didn't account for the 270 miles detour cause the load was a two piece load and one state wouldn't allow thru travel if not delivering in that state. This broker was new at the game trying to move ten loads on five trucks and was not going to raise the rate i had a good laugh and picked up some precast columns going five miles past where his two piece loads was going at a rate he should of been paying

Myself I prefer tracked equipment over rubber tire on the deck. It doesn’t move around the same way. Here in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 if you can break the equipment down in under 8 hours to make the weight, that’s just what you have to do. We’re also allowed 140000LBS on 7 axles here too though. There’s always the exceptions though and we just need to spend a few days breaking down some cranes and still permit them for size and weight LOL

I have so much respect for the trucking industry and the crap you guys have to deal with. It's gone way past being a ''safety'' with the DOT and it's become a power and money game with them. I'm a Farmer and sometimes haul pretty heavy but the DOT tends to leave us agriculture guys alone...at least here in NY and I only haul 200 miles at the most usually. Thanks for what you do man, and stay safe!
@snoopdogie187

I've done two trips down the east coast and back, and some few hour trips with farm plates and no one bothered us. Even weight stations don't seem want to check paperwork. I've done mostly local so I just avoid the weight stations anyway, and usually nothing that heavy.
@BrodieBr0
@BrodieBr0 3 жыл бұрын
@@snoopdogie187 Yep, I've gone to plenty of auctions including one 1200 miles away I bought a CAT D6 Dozer and towed it home and the 2 weigh stations I had to stop at just waived me through without checking anything. I do make sure all of my equipment is within DOT specs and watch KZbin channels like Eric's to make sure I'm safe and legal. But as you said when the DOT sees farm plates they just seem to not even care we exist where as Truckers like Eric go out of their way to make their trucks safe and legal for the DOT to create an issue that doesn't exist just to site them. DOT is bullcrap money and power scam.

And they sit around and wonder why there's a shortage in the industry of truck drivers. Well when you start being unreasonable and find fault in brand new equipment I guess you could add that as one more reason to the long list. Does the mpg increase out weight tue cost of fuel ox?
@HeavyHaulNation
@HeavyHaulNation 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! So far I’m a full MPG higher than when I first started using it! That’s 300 more miles per tank I’m getting which filling my tanks has been costing me around $600 so one tank has already paid for the fuel ox and it treats about a month worth of tanks of fuel for me per bottle. So it is absolutely worth the cost.

When you have a law enforcement agency bragging that they can shut you down and find you with a brand new equipment, you have lost all respect from me, that is not keeping the road safe, that is not making sure the equipment is up to spec and in good working order. That is nothing more than a bunch of uniformed thugs walking around with baseball bats breaking people's knees just because they can. I have great respect for law enforcement, I have no respect for DOT, when it comes to cops there's only a few bad apples in the bunch, when it comes to dot it's the exact opposite. You want my opinion to change, stop being the knee breaking bullies that look and sabotage driver's equipment just so you can write a ticket and fine someone. And if you've been on the road for any length amount of time you know exactly what I mean by sabotaging your equipment, I can't be the only one that's had a DOT officer to do some scummy stuff. I can count on one hand the amount of excellent dot officers that I've met, but I could show you a list longer than the empire State building is tall of scummy dot officers that I've run into. If I was a regular officer I'd be pissed at the DOT, because a lot of people make the mistake of believing that your regular officer is also a DOT officer, and those worthless egotistical dot officers on a power trip do nothing but ruin the good name of law enforcement.
