HAA's should get pay a lot more! Their salary is between 20,000 and 25,000 a year , that's a rip off for them, they're pretty much doing everything for this people taking care of them like babies. Very unfair to me

Andres uruguayo I’m starting to notice that..the more school = more pay = less work lol.. but from the looks of this i can tell it beats workin in a warehouse I’m thinking of medical trade school programs . And this pays about the same as a warehouse with less work? I was working 50-60 hr weeks for about 3 years at United cold storage Slave away to see 1,510$ every 2 weeks

Compassion is the word, I remember when I started my first day, the carer I was working with, told me that I was not allowed to talk to the customer and I was like daaa......she is human and it could have been me in that chair and I'd wish that someone caring for me to talk me🤔......so I kept doing what I thought it was right to be done. After few days the other carer started copying my style and that was nice to see because the customer become more cheerful and helpful in everything......treat them the way you would wish to be treated if you were in their shoes 💞💞💞

I've been a CNA for 16 years and I have been thinking about going to home health care. I enjoy my work but I am honestly burn out on nursing homes and the rat race of taking care of twenty people. I have arthritis in both of my knees now and I can't keep up with the running that is required in ltc. I think home health would be a lot easier on my body and it's slower paced. I would love to give care and help an elderly person out around their home. I would also like to get home at a decent hour instead of late at night like I've had to do so much over the years. the more I think about home health the more I want to do it.

lynn edwards I'm 28 and I've successfully ran a marathon but my job as a male cna for the past nearly 8 yrs at a long term care facility is causing a constant feelings of fatigue and burn out. I'm curious about turning to home health although my facility has taken care of the laundry and cooking services in the past causing some feelings of hesitation. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Fuck that!!! I've worked at nursing homes and in home and let me tell y'all!!!! Working in home is way less stressful and you work the hrs thats convenient for you.some nursing homes or hospitals may pay more but for the most part CNAs are paid along the same lines. Now i will give you this little tip, work for an agency thats high ranked and has PLENTY of client's to go around so your never going without a paycheck💰💰..or in other words waiting for a client to care ❤for...I say give it a try😁 you can always go bk to a facility if you dont like working one on one because we ALL know they stay under staff

You can always hire people to do the work for you and also buy a home to bring in your own seniors citizens who are in need of care. It doesn't have to be a huge amount... 4 - 6 seniors.

HHA's don't take care of the client's pets or anyone else in the home. Only the assigned client is who you take care of and nothing more than that. You follow the care plan for the client and that's it.

This is Embarrassing to pay someone that cooks and clean an elderly person home, as well as wash them cleaning shit changing diapers. To have them drive home to home for $10 hr in some states, that not enough money to fix your car, at least in NYC they went on strike and got more money and better benefits.

I’am interested in the home health aide career. Maybe nursing homes too but I just don’t know where to start to begin. I think googling places and calling around can be a good start and taking notes down as I call around can help me. I’am also not CNA certified yet. And don’t know if I have to be.

It’s not what it seems you go to some clients homes and all they expect you to do is mop their floor clean their bathroom mostly your doing is cleaning I prefer working in the hospital or a nursing home sometimes there are very nice clients don’t get me wrong but sometimes you get clients that don’t fully understand the job they can jump into conclusions like most of the time some of them will ask me if I ever went to school do I have an education which is kind of disrespectful so HHA is not what it all seem to be if I knew more about this job I wouldn’t do it so please do your research before getting into it this HHA job its not for everyone 😢and you don’t get paid well

U ain’t never lied. I was doing live in care and the family friend asked did I go to school for this. The client herself told me I must not like cooking for her and I said maybe I should quit and she told me “well if it’s not rewarding” like lady I’m here to help ya old a** and told me sometimes she under estimate the aides and also that when she gets better then she can fire me. I told her she isn’t supposed to walk away without me and she goes, well what are u gonna do,write it down? Smh! Just sad. Disrespectful And just rude. I have been doing home health care for a long time. Ive made some good life time friends. kept busy for 7 years serving people. Im thankful for the job and happy to help. Mos tplaces tell you their expectations when you get there. If it isn't agreeable to you you don't have to take on that asignment. Ive done simple meals changed bedding bathed washed and set hair, trimmed nails trimmed hair washed windows, planted a small raised bed garden, done laundry mopped and swept floors vaccuumed and swept off porches and decks. Read to them. Go online and watch travel programs whereever they have traveled. Let them show you what they want to eat. Usually its simple meals snd their family knows what they like. There are usually heat and eat meals in the freezer that take 3 to 5 min in the microwave. I have changed lightbulbs, Change a bandage, make coffee or tea. Changed remote batteries. Set up for morning and evening routines put tooth paste on brush piur sme mouthwash in a cup. Turn down the bed. Change sheets. Set up for breakfast bybsetting out utinsils, making coffee, empty the trash, put together a grocery list.lnof things they are out of that they need. Clean out fridge from old food that could make them sick bc its out of date and they can't see or smell it good enough to tell. Plump pillows rub their back. Talk to them with reality and truth dont patronize them but kindness and love goes a long way. Help them in and out of bed, so they don't fall, help them get dressed and put their shoes and socks on bc they cant bend down or reach up. Smile and reassure them they are loved, safe and valued. Tell them you are happy to be a help to them and that you are right behind them on your time line and they need to show you how old age isn't for sissies! Be willing to take them on errands or to the store or doctor if they are able to get around. I took them to sit in the car at a park and ate to go meals from steak n shake. If they are home bound just get to know what they want each one is different. Some want the kitchen floor swept. Some want their kaundry dine. Some want the living room vaccuumed. I do it all and look for more ways to be useful and of service. Try to be wuiet yet encouraging. If you're hurting take an aspirin don't whine about your aches and pains, they dont want ir need to hear it. Save it for another person later on your own time and nickle. Thats it in a nutshell. You want to eatablish trust so be trustworthy. Arrive early or on time sndbsay goodbye in a good tone. Some are easier than others.
