I am an adjunct professor at a community college. I, historically, have taught Surgical Technology, but am helping out with the Medical Assisting program. Young lady, your videos are an excellent resource for those looking into this career, but also for an instructor, like me, who did not perform in this role! Keep up the good work!

Watched both of your video’s, they are very good. I am a retired Medical Assistant for a Endocrinologist and loved it. Your video is very good for people interested in becoming an MA. There are so many medical area’s you can work, you can work at hospital or clinic’s. The clinic I worked at has mostly Medical Assistant’s in each office, very few nurses. Medical Assistant’s have taken the place of Licensed Practical Nurse.

Not true at all! Idk where you live but from what I know in Ga regular Medical assistant in PCP offices can range 11/12 to 14 an hour or so depending. At urgent Care I know of people that got paid 15$ to 17$ an hour. You could gain more experience and knowledge, be trained on the job on things that nurses go to school for. Your job can pay for your training and certify you. Also even to go back to school to complete your nursing degree! And you can even get paid same as a amateur nurse. Again depends on the company. Good luck and don't let anyone tell you you can't do something!! Look for small companies that are expanding. You can move up with the company. You can go so far if you put your mind to it. Good luck n God bless!

Got a couple questions How long was your program? I did medical assistant back in 2015 I literally worked only for 1 day and quit I went straight to nursing school now I’ve been working as a nurse for almost 2 years and I love it a lot. My question is what kind doctors office are you working at? And how do you deal with the doctors?
@ohlalaparis11065 жыл бұрын
Family medicine is not even close to any specialty clinic. I’ve been a medical assistant for 5 years (1 year in pain clinic and 4 in fam practice). We see from 19-21 patient every day, from new born to geriatric patients, from physicals to acute visits. The only slow days we have is usually the beginning of the year for a couple of weeks due to the insurance re-enrollmen. I reach my 15k steps everyday 😝 but I love what I do no matter how hectic it can get.

I should be starting my externship very soon. I’m nervous and anxious lol 🙃. I don’t want to mess up or look slow if I don’t do stuff correctly after a couple tries. Especially if it’s a clinic where it gets very busy or the managers are strict etc. That’s whats holding me back. I don’t want to look bad or make the school I went to look bad. Maybe I’m just overthinking and making this bigger than what it should be. Lol I just don’t want to mess up. Do you have any tips or advice you could give me? Will I be allowed to bring a small notepad to write down some notes or it depends if the clinic lets me?
@SharleneColon5 жыл бұрын
It is completely normal to feel that way! Its something you've never done so its okay to feel that way because its something out of your comfort zone! and it is definitely okay to bring a notepad! It shows them that you are actually wanting to learn! At least that's what me and my co-workers feel like when we have to train medical assistants. Especially if that helps you! Always let the person training you know the best way you learn! (Hands on , Taking notes, etc.) I took tons of notes! and when I started rooming by myself I would have my notes with me just in case! Don't ever be ashamed of carrying around notes or asking questions over and over! & its OKAY to make mistakes that's also another way we learn. Good Luck with everything! Let me know how it goes when you start!

Samone- Checkout my channel ppl who are cnas go to technical schools but I’ve seen some who say “I went to college and graduated as a CNA”. Like no, you did not go to college 🤦🏻♀️

Angie De La Torre but don’t u have to take college accredited classes to become a CNA? I’m not in the medical field yet so this is a bit confusing.

Also, are Medical Assistants and CNA’s the same?

@@angiedelatorre_ a technical school is real school. My husband's in technical school right now for heating and cooling, because technical schools offer so many different subjects. Those are real schools lol. And maybe you should just get out more girl because some community colleges do offer programs to become a CNA. For example I'm in Michigan and we have a school here called Washtenaw community college that offers it, and there's others too. Maybe theres just no colleges in YOUR area that offer it, and that's unfortunate 🤷 but either way why do u care if they tell u that they went to college to become a CNA? Lol weird
