1:37 well, that didn't age well... I guess the people making this video didn't know that about a month later, the ATC system would be permanently disabled as a result of a fatal crash caused by it. I don't get why WMATA doesn't re-enable the ATC system. It's been over a decade since that collision, and they're just hurting their operations by opting for human-controlled trains over computer-controlled trains.

Kevin Howard I also tale the blue line they dont actually talk its pre recorded they press a button and it says doors closing. All they do is just accelerate brake and open/close doors

BART trains are even more high tech. their ATC is so precise there are squares on the platform that tell you exactly where the doors will be at. SEPTA's Market-Frankford line is one of the very few lines that I know of that have cameras on the station platforms that link to the train once it enters the station. it allows the operator to see the entire platform without opening the window.

Sometimes. Doesn't always work properly and they have to look out the window on the cab side or come out of the cab and key the door on the opposite side.

Vader Walks metro hires in house first (at the moment) so you need to be a bus operator first.

@@vaderwalks6790 Hate to tell you, but the person gave you correct information 99.5 percent of Wmata train operators are farmed from the bus divisions. It's an in house operation.
