Sir, can you please tell where one might find the prerequisites for becoming a Microsoft software engineer ? Does the website contain the information? Like which languages, skills are top priority etc. One is JavaScript...in the Real Code Example.

The fact you have to include "w/ Real Code" in the title of a "day in the life of a software engineer" video says loads about all other videos of this format.

I love that in big companies you get to be focused on one part of the code base. At my small company we have like 6 apps we have to rotate through and maintain. You end up being a jack of all trades and master of none. Would love to just stick to one app for once and just know the ins and outs of it and improve it. But I work for non tech company so its really just pushing feature after feature no time for making things better. Awesome video looking forward to watching the working in Hawaii it's making me think I could just do this every few months as well, see the world while I work sounds really nice right about now as I work remotely.

I'm not really sure if you should disable the button, changes that were made could also have a negative effect and accidentally remove info that was supposed to be there Maybe instead it would be worth it to save where the scrollbar/page nr was when the box was checked, so it can be easily reviewed (store that for every checked box) (maybe even do a diff between those areas so you can alert the user that there were changes made to that section since they last reviewed it (starting to feel like github code reviews as I'm writing this haha)

I just watched a lot of your waterloo videos. I just got into system design co-op at Waterloo, but a lot of people are saying (even you) said that it is just a cs job waiting for you at the end. So Would it even be worth it to attend and just go to a cs program?
@JasonGoodison
@JasonGoodison 3 жыл бұрын
Don't make any rash decisions! I don't know everything and I could certainly be wrong. What I suggest you do is attend the program you chose and then make your decision. At the very least you will meet people via the cohort system and then get to transfer into cs with many friends. (That's what Bo Peng did in his famous SWE vs CS article). For now, don't stress. Congrats on getting in! Celebrate and enjoy 🎉🎉

@annazhou4672
@annazhou4672 3 жыл бұрын
@@Grind_or_Die I don't think you have to worry, I got in with a 90 average. In addition, I did fast-track my math by one year so I would be able to finish calculus by the first sem this year. I also finished physics and chemistry in the first semester and the only course I am completing this semester is English. So that is one of the hugest factors. They probably just want your midterms for all the major grade 12 courses, even if you have all the grade 11 ones. So with a 96 average, bra that's super good man, good job and ur ecs are good.
