A Day in the Life of a Multi Media Journalist

"Time is always your worst enemy." Ain't that the truth! It's a fact for those of us in the news business. One of our star interns Maura Christie at WIVB-TV followed me around for a day back in March for her senior project, "Life of a Multimedia Journalist." Angela, you did so well! I’m a freshman college student, currently studying Mass Communications. My emphasis is in Broadcast Journalism. Of course, before any broadcaster can achieve a larger market, they must start in a much smaller market. It will require me to do 5 different jobs in one. I’ve never been too keen on the idea of being an MMJ, but it’s inevitable in my proximity. I’m so glad someone from a not so large market gave me the rundown! I wish I could shadow you for one day! I wish you the best in this crazy and exhilarating field we’ve chosen!

Fred, she did do well. Some MMJ can make decent money. It seems the fluff pieces they farm out to MMJ one-man-band. The harder news they have full time reporters. Beat reporters. But what she's doing is fun. But maybe not profitable?
