You can unroll your kids from school and home school them giving you as a family freedom to go places or holidays whenever you want and a lot of home schooling can be done online or with private tutors or you can teach the kids yourself n then during school holidays there are home school clubs that kids can go meet other home schooled kids and do fun activities n lessons with but homeschooling gives you the choice of what your kids learn when they learn and can be flexible learning to suit your family n you don't have to worry about kids being sick missing out on learning as you can let them learn whenever day or night when they feel better, alit of people in UK are pulling kids out of schools n homeschooling due to all the rules on uniforms, days of sick or for unexpected reasons, or holidays at times that are affordable for them, and coz schools are isolating kids for small things preventing there learning and for as you are saying for trips out for fun that they or you could have done after school hours so they don't miss time learning even if it is last week of school terms school should be making sure all kids are upto date with there learning and giving extra help for kids that are struggling with learning not wasting time doing Christmas crafts or letting kids have free play time alday to watch films n do fun activities that isn't learning
