What changed that you can go in person? Vaccine? Or just calculated risk

Hi! So we have different COVID-19 phases and with each phase comes different restrictions, Phase 5 being the strictest. We are now in Phase 3 because of the small positive covid cases on campus so we are allowed to attend in person classes, train, workout at the gym, etc.

How hard is it to be vegetarian at USAFA? I’m vegan and I’m very curious. Thank you :)
@ugotbambamboozled4 жыл бұрын
Hi! So during basic it was actually pretty easy to eat a fairly normal vegetarian diet. However, now that the ac year has started, I have found it a bit more difficult to get all of the nutrition because of the high tempo atmosphere here. You have to really make time to eat . The food is decent but we also have a cafe and several litttle stores you can buy food on the go or for later. But again you have to prioritize it!

I am applying to USAFA right now and I am worried that I won’t be able to go in because I do not play sports...
@ugotbambamboozled4 жыл бұрын
And that’s okay! While sports do play a part in admissions , it’s not the only part. Have faith in ur application and ur abilities ❤️

Just curious do you recommend the USAFA. I'm a junior and I want to do Rotc. I don't know if I'd thrive in that structure for 4 years and then another 4 years after.
@ugotbambamboozled4 жыл бұрын
Well it most definitely is a commitment. When you come here, you will not enjoy the same freedoms as you maybe will experience as a ROTC cadet. However, are training , academic programs, and leadership opportunities are quite unmatched and sets us apart from ROTC programs. But I’d encourage you to really decide what you want. Coming to a service academy truly isn’t for everyone which is perfectly fine!

Hey what classes are you required to take at USAFA?
@ugotbambamboozled4 жыл бұрын
So there are alot of classes you are required to take regardless of major here at the academy. They range from Behavioral Science to Astro. We are a heavy STEM institution so you can expect to take a healthy does of those types of course, regardless of your major.

I’m working hard to meet the requirements they state on the website and getting high grades was probably the hardest. Haven’t taken my ACT yet but I’m prepping and I’m starting kickboxing soon so I plan on doing boxing there. I also am studying for my PPL which is pretty fun looking forward to the application process and hopefully an acceptance to a stepping stone of my future

Most likely
@ugotbambamboozled4 жыл бұрын
Yes a lot of people here actually go on to become pilots but a more select number train to become fighter pilots. What type of aircraft you fly is not determined while here at the academy tho. But a lot of people do get pilot slots!

Love the video! Quick question though, thanks to COVID my freshman year is ✨sub-par✨ didn't really do too good, couldn't do sports, couldn't join clubs the whole shmazz. But I was curious as to how much this might affect me? I know I still got 3 more years and I'm pretty active in my CAP squadron but hey anxiety am i right? Anywho, love the video!
@ugotbambamboozled3 жыл бұрын
Hi ! I think one thing to understand is that everyone knows just how much COVID has really affected every part of our lives. I'm sure the academy's admissions department will definitely take that into consideration due to the limitations and restrictions it's had on prospective students. So don't sweat it, continue to do what you can and you'll be a-okay!
@AGamingMuffin3 жыл бұрын
Keep up with CAP, it makes a difference! Go for leadership positions, reach your milestone exams, and if you haven't already, go for your Mitchell! While sports are a good boost, the main thing is to keep in shape and ace the CFA. I played absolutely 0 sports during HS, but I kept in shape and backed up my app with academics and leadership. Also, look into AFROTC!
