Madtroid I agree, I think you’d need a balance of both. If you’re just drowning in essays as you learn a language, you’ll just end up hating the language you’re learning and dread learning it at all. But if you only watch movies, you’ll only learn what’s said in that movie that has some made up words for spine story which could confuse beginners that are learning the language. Entertaining movies do work in favour if you give like a sort of questionnaire. In my English class, we read a book and answer questions our teacher made for each chapter and proceed to watch the movie if the book was adapted. I’m in a French school and English is pretty easy for me since it’s used in my everyday life and was my first language. French is second but I mostly speak it in school and when I go shopping, but the learning is entertaining enough that I’m willing to learn. Again, learning a language is a lot of work and quite repetitive since you have to memorize words and verbs tenses and sentence structure, but it’s more effective to add subjects of entertainment like movies, books, plays, music and such to have the students not only learn about the language, but also the arts.

Come to I dia The British left but kept their education system here still to this day English in India is like very good thing because you are like those I dian tech support guys everywhere sadly I am also good at tech but not support also in India you have very old kind of British Indian english not American English indian english has mostly accurate word pronounciations and we don't follow American system of enlgish here instead of yeah here it's mostly yes plus yeah the thing that only 7 English speaking countries are allowed to work their citizens in korea is kinda bad because what about +50 nations Britain colonized and the ones which have english as their official language in India you learn maths earlier than english tho still I learnt my first english letter at 3 years and I m pretty good at english in comparison of reading and writing

Thank you sooo much for making this video! While many people talk about their experiences teaching, you never SEE what it's really like. First question is I am going into the teaching profession in the U.S. and was wanting to try teaching abroad in my early years to live it up during my younger years but I am a liberal studies major with a math minor. Is that okay? Second is, how do you formulate your lesson plans? They seem to be more about actually learning how to speak English and not about grammar and other things I remember from classes?
@ninja.teacher9 жыл бұрын
Your majors are fine. :) You can do an online TEFL course to learn about lesson planning. Usually it's a combination of vocab, grammar and speaking although it depends on your school. You can check out our course here: ninjateacher.com/get-tefl-online

You said you teach at four different schools out there, and on your other video you said that right when you got to your hostel you were already being offered jobs? I have a bachelor's degree from San Diego State, and am working on my tefl certificate as we speak. I would really appreciate some advice because I really can't afford a plane ticket out there, if I'm going to struggle to find a good paying job. Is it really that easy as I've been reading? I appreciate any info, I like your videos.. looks amazing out there.
