7:03 when you say you ty to schedule back to back meetings, how many meetings a day and which job titles are in this meeting, it sounds like you are in a way higher ranking since you are the one scheduling these instead of them? 2. why not do the tasks first and meetings after? 3. why not do meetings every other hour to then work on the tasks for at least an hour? 4. are there meetings more important than others that eventually have to come first in the morning where the others can wait til late afternoons?

4:56 The meetings that are not as important as you said here, do you still attend them, or do you sit there listening to the others as you work on your tasks? Can you give five examples of these meetings that are not so important and which job titles are attending these meetings? #road2PO

You can multitask some meetings. I multitask meetings on releases because all teams are there and I will only be called on once. Meetings on production support same. Executive monthly where we present our deliveries because I get 4 mins out of 90. But ceremonial agile meets and requirement gathering/defining I have to be present 100%

Hey Olivia! Question here! I am a new Product Owner love the job and still learning. Which is why i enjoy this field. My question is how do you stay organized? are there any specific platforms you use would like to see that
@oliviali9214 Жыл бұрын
Hi there, at work I use Google sheet, Doc to organize my tasks and drafts, and use Confluence, Google slides to document information that needs to be shared with other team members and stakeholders. Other tools I like: Monday.com (for managing and visualize roadmaps) Miro for brainstorming and frameworks

Hi, I am a BA, but i want to know if my BA skills are sufficient for a product owner role? What do I need to learn?
@jakearnouse52674 ай бұрын
BAs are the natural fit for product owners. You need scrum/agile experience as you will lead a team that consists of an IA, designer, engineer, tech lead, scrum master, developers and qas. For me was very easy transition to make but I was senior ba with a lot of qa and pm experience.

Hi @Olivia - new to this channel, thanks for the great video release! I'm wanting to build a career roadmap from UX / CX Design to Product Ownership. Let me know if you have any tips ^^

Hi there, thank you for sharing the question. Transitioning from an UX and CX design to product management should be one of the easiest. The answer can be lengthy, but I am collecting questions and planing to create a QA video later. Stay tuned for the answers!

Hi Olivia, thank you very much for this nice video. Actually , I'm a science graduate but having experience in international marketing. I wish to have career change by becoming a PO but I do not have IT knowledge. Hence I'm following some course related to full stack development and wish to do a project management course as well. What would you recommend for furthur studies to pursue PO career. Thanks
@oliviali9214 Жыл бұрын
Hi Dinu, if you want to be a technical PO, then your decision to study IT knowledge is right. But if you gear towards a business strategy driven PO, then I’d recommend you to study technologies that could drive products success, user needs discovery method, Agile project mgmt, UX, and business model, etc. Product management is really a career that touches a range of domains and requires a diverse professional background.

Hey Olivia! Thanks a lot for sharing this video with needed details and tips. I had a small query and it would be of great help to get it clarified. I had done my MBA in India and also did the CSPO certification. I do not have exact Product Management experience but I have more than 3 years of IT exp. I moved to US and now have a career break of almost 3 years due to visa issues. Will I still be able to get a job as an Assistant Product Owner once I get my visa in US? Any suggestions around the same is much appreciated. Thank you and Wishing you good luck with everything!

Hey Olivia, im taking a scrum course and reading a book about planning and product roadmap also watching videos about PO so, will these be enough to pass an internship interview for PO?
@oliviali9214 Жыл бұрын
It depends on what the job description is. You will need to know why you are building the product, user pain points and business objectives, etc.

Hi Olivia i have been in development switching to management can you guide what would be more appropriate product manager or project manager.Also my executive MBA will be completed in 2024 June.
@oliviali9214 Жыл бұрын
Hi there, I think what will be more challenging for a person transferring from development to product are organization, communication (leadership skills), stakeholder management and business vision. Try technical product manager roles first and hone the skills I mentioned.
