I dropped out of college today, I was taking 18 units and i'm an art major juggling with GE classes. Every day was a battle with getting myself to do school work. I am only 18 and I feel like my life stopped. I had a hard year- I got physically assaulted and things really went down in my family... I never got a break to heal and be happy when there is still so much to be happy about. I dropped out today and am going to focus on crocheting and building up a small business. Honestly, I can finally take a deep breath and feel peace. I love to have goals, responsibilities, and work to do. Work is good, but we tend to take blessings and turn them into curses. To all those who are taking a break like me (not just in school), remember that routine is good. It has a bigger impact on our mental health than we realize. Keep a routine... just make it a good one. Realistic, productive, fun, light-hearted, and beneficial to yourself and others.

I definitely relate to trying to overcome procrastination (I mean I guess everyone does to a certain extent!) but I find that even for activities I’m genuinely interested in I tend to avoid doing them and stay in a constant state of yearning and inaction. But like you said breaking the big projects into bit sized ones makes all the difference! Plus I find that for me personally, starting is always the hardest part but once I’m in ma groove it’s much more simpler 🤩 I also need to lessen my focus on instant gratification (ie: exercising and studying even though I don’t want to in the moment but they’ll make me feel better and more prepared for the day vs the instant gratification of sleeping in all day which feels good in the moment but I feel bad about in the long term) anyway thanks for the video and good luck with your own journey!!!!!!

I have the sweatiest of hands, and downward dog was my nemesis, until I started using a simple towel at the top of my yoga mat. I just place my hands over there and I am not slipping at all. I am also wearing simple cotton socks so my feet don't slip as well. You don't need to get a new mat really, just a plain towel will do.

lately, i’ve been struggling with avoiding procrastinating as well. everyday, i always think about the days where i am at my best which i am so productive and creative. i felt so useless just by thinking it. i tried so hard to beat myself and my emotions, and those unavoidable toxic habits but i can’t. i gave up a couple of times and tried to rest but it made it worse. then a thought suddenly popped up in my mind. i should just do the things i’ve done where i am at my happiest form all over again. and your video came at the right time actually. you helped me out a lot. if it isn’t because of you and your valuable words, i wouldn’t let this suffocating emotions out. thank you so much leah i love you 🥺 we can overcome ourselves, someday :)

I totally feel you on feeling resistance towards a project/starting something out of the pressure to make it 'good' or even 'perfect.' The quote "done is better than good" comes to mind during those times. And I've found that changing my goal/reframing to be like "I am going to make a BAD/UGLY video/painting/drawing on purpose" gives me the permission to create and then the room to edit and change it as much as I like afterward. Hope that nugget of thinking might resonate w/some other perfectionists out there!

earlier this year i finished a therapy session meaning it was many sessions but my therapist said that i have “healed from my trauma”. honestly, i feel like i was ready to move on but recently i have realized that some of the past emotions and experiences are affecting my everyday life. although this is a bit personal i want to share it with you so you know that you are not alone. i also have a big problem of procrastination but mine is mostly procrastination towards hard and difficult tasks. through journaling (which your videos taught me to do), i discovered that my procrastination comes from being afraid to struggle alone which came from my experience in sixth grade, where i was alone and in pain which is now one of my biggest fears. recognizing this, i am now able to be able to grow and change. so not only did i want to thank you for helping me personally so much, but i wanted to tell you that everyone here is extremely proud of you and i am so happy you found a person that can help you and know that you are the strongest person )))

omg Leah thank you so much for this video, it's really great in terms of showing how to schedule your time on everyday basis. recently I've been really struggling to manage my time because I have 6 hours of study everyday + time for homework, cleaning, cooking, etc etc etc, which is already really hard to do sometimes, but I also desired to bring some physical activities, hobbies, quality relationship time into my routine and really couldn't understand how to deal with all of it, as 24 hours in a day seemed too little time. but now as i watched this video I realized that I shouldn't put too much pressure on myself and just set little manageable goals... it's so simple but yet so non-obvious all in all THANK YOU LEAH and also thank you for the workouts, I'll try them right now! yeah it's me timeeee

watching this just now helped me so much, I'm currently in quarantine with four roommates and sometimes I feel like I'm doing something wrong because I try having a bedtime and sleeping a good amount while they just stay up watching TV and talking, but this affirms me that the way I'm trying to care for myself is good and legitimate. thanks Leah! love you and Andrew, you're doing great :)

Norwegian Wood is such a wild book. I saw a lot of people complaining that they didn't like it because it "didn't have a plot" but it didn't have a plot in the same way that Catcher in the Rye didn't have a plot: it's about the characters and how they interact and their own personal stories and feelings. It was the kind of book that I had to sit with for a while to really think about how I felt about it. Well worth the read!
