Good to see you were able to get your hands on some corn silage and all the neighbours were able to help. Hopefully when you harvest your own you'll have enough to see you through. As always it's a pleasure to watch someone that clearly loves what he does. It shows on your farm your cows and your videos.

Does this machine hurt cows? could you explain how it works i always wanted to know how a milking machine works
@farmerspov47092 жыл бұрын
Not at all, in fact, the cows are relaxed during milking (they have to be in order to "let out" the milk). On the milking units there are rubber tubes that contract and expand, thus squeezing the cow's teats from which the milk flows. The milk is transferred to the collection tank by vacuum. Milking time of one cow is around 6 minutes, depends on how fast the milk is flowing.
@GabrielSouza-yi2yf2 жыл бұрын
@@farmerspov4709 I thought it hurt because they say that milking is a suckling calf simulator so it must hurt, you know, I didn't know that cows had to be relaxed to release the milk for me, I just had to put the machine on and the milk would come out

I loved the video, but out of curiosity, do these machines really squeeze the cow's chest? how does it work? big hug
@farmerspov47092 жыл бұрын
The milking machine gently squeezes the teats on the cow's udder, simulates calf sucking. The process is pleasant for the cow, because otherwise the cow does not start to secrete milk 😉

Yes this is corn chaff, for silage. We spread some lactic bacteria culture over it for better fermentation 😉

Uzivanje je gledati tvoje video snimke, svaka cast samo tako nastavi :) Sad kada bi mogao da mi odgovoris samo par pitanja, koliko grla imas na farmi, i sta sve dodajes u miks prikolicu. Pozdrav iz Srbije :) It's a pleasure to watch your videos, just keep going :) Now that you could just answer me a few questions, how many cows do you have on the farm, and what do you add to the mix trailer. Greetings from Serbia :)
@farmerspov47093 жыл бұрын
Hvala, ovo mi je najvažnije 🙂 Na farmi imamo 60 grla goveda, hranimo ih silažom kukuruza i trave, senom, a mešavini dodajemo vitamine i minerale, mlevena zrna kukuruza i nešto proteinskog dodatka, trenutno koristimo mešavinu suncokreta, uljane repice i soja 😉 Thanks, that matters the most 🙂 We have 60 head of cattle on the farm, we feed them with corn and grass silage, hay, and in the mix we add vitamins and minerals, ground corn grains and some protein supplement, we currently use a mixture of sunflowers, oilseed rape and soybeans 😉

Nice Video again! It looks like you got enough cornsilage? Didnt you chop your corn by yourself last year?
@farmerspov47093 жыл бұрын
Thanks 🙂 Well it would be best to make this silo full but it will be okay. Yeah we chopped some of our corn for a small pile that we made, so that we could start using it when our main silos were fermenting. But this year we ran out of silage sooner and also we planted our corn one month later so it isn't ready yet to harvest. Thats why we made this first silo (from a corn we bought that is ripe enough) to start feeding it as soon as possible.
