Exactly. To fill in some information. The area came to be called the 'west bank' when Jordan took over the area after Israel's War of Independence. It means the 'west bank' of the Jordan River. Interesting that during the whole time that Jordan controlled the area there was never any call for a 'palestinian' state there.

Maybe you don't really get it? The song is still "ironic" because it sings proudly about the settlements which the leftist Israeli press is always condemning and putting down. It is obviously speaking truth to power in song. It's a gem!
